What a cozy and inviting home! This home was relaxing with great style, lots of places to sit and relax with the other families. The kids especially enjoyed the game room. Lots of space and a beautiful view!
We loved staying here for the weekend. We used the pool a lot, it was awesome. Heated to about 82 degrees. There were just enough beds for our large group. Plenty of towels and linens. Lots of different places to hang out. We'd come back for sure.
Wonderful long weekend, country cozy, rooms for all, beautiful lake view from large back deck and huge windows, great game room, lake access, lots of room to spread out, modern bathrooms and showers, huge kitchen and dining area, fire pit, amazing swimming pool, 10 minute drive to town.
Property was comfortable and accommodated our family (ages 3-62) nicely. It was a very hot few days during our stay. The pool and air conditioned game room sure came in handy. The kids caught lots of fish off the dock, which was nice.
Our entire family of 16 had a wonderful time at the house. The game room was a real hit with the kids and the pool was excellent. Deanna, our property manager, checked in with us every day to make sure everything was good. She is a wonderful lady and we enjoyed working with her. We hope to visit again. Thank you!
12 to 14 of us take a yearly trip with our special needs adult children. This property had all the room we needed, great game room and wonderful pool. While we had a beautiful view of the lake it was about two blocks away. That would be the only negative. We had a great time!
We needed a place to stay for our son's wedding in Illinois to hold 20 family members. This home is beautiful and spacious, with a beautiful floor plan allowing you some privacy while never being away from the action. The kitchen is spacious and the center of the home. The window views are amazing! The location was perfect with a beautiful lake view, and a small neighborhood for walking. We had a great time!
We had a wonderful stay at this house! It was very spacious for our family with 11 adults & 6 kids. The layout of the kitchen/dining room was perfect for large family meals. The heated pool was very clean and we spent most of our days in the water. The game room is separated from the house above the garage which was perfect for our group. The adults could go hang out there after the kids went to bed. The property manager checked in on us multiple times to see if we needed anything. Overall, a great stay & we’d definitely return in the future. Only tip would be to pack extra bug spray as there were a lot of mosquitoes (which is to be expected when you’re right near a lake and we had some rain.)

Nice pool and game room but needs updating.
Pool was great and nice views of the lake but photos were misleading. A walk to the pier and lake not right there and the canoe was fully of moldy water and kayaks were flimsy. The kids enjoyed the game room. The house itself was dated and needs some renovating
My family picked this place for our biennial family gathering which included 19 people this year. The place was spacious, lots of places to gather as family and good privacy. We were able to accommodate everybody comfortably. The place was wonderful, Dee, the manager, was very responsive, the pool was great and we would consider re-renting this place in two years.
Of note, we did use the cottage but the water to the cottage had a strong fetid smell and my family staying there could not use the shower or sink because the odor was too strong. The manager attempted to fix it but was unsuccessful, and the owner refused any reimbursement. The lake was a touch of a walk but the pool made up for it.
Lastly, the HVAC unit is located in the basement, and in order to keep the top floor at a comfortable temperature, the basement gets very cold. Whoever plans on sleeping in the rooms down there should enjoy the cold or bring extra blankets.
It was absolutely one of the best places we have stayed at and one of the most relaxing vacations! Dee was wonderful to work with and really went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could be. Many thanks for everything from our family!
I would make sure you confirm the house check in and out times on the listing was not what they expected. We were rushed out in the morning because they had an early check in and cleaning was there.
Pros: easy check-in, relatively well-stocked large kitchen (could use a dish strainer, blender and some ice cube trays), loved the table able to seat large group, appreciated the ability to accommodate large group with number of rooms and room configurations, plenty of linens and toiletries, location close to Chicago, POOL!!! SAFETY Issues: 1) Bed frame in small 1st floor room protrudes beyond mattress. 2) Spindles on king lower level bed removed and naked screws sticking up.Problem areas: severe damage to kitchen floor, some furnishings really beat up, cheap covers on couches, bi-fold closet doors all off tracks, microwave handle damaged, cottage less than clean, cheapest TP and paper towels. Rear Deck cushions worn and torn, rear of house filthy, perhaps 10-12 equally filthy lights over rear deck working. Owners need to contract for recycling pick-up!

some all it chaos our family calls it family vacation
We started with a few minor glitches, which were resolved by the next day. The pool was large, could have been a little cleaner. The kitchen was very large, but lacking a few cooking items which we had to bring from home. The view of the lake was spectacular, unfortunately the may flies were all over the patio windows. The king bed in the basement had a noise issue, every time you rolled over or moved on the bed it sounded like crinkling plastic. We had ages from 2 to 82, Overall we enjoyed the home and property and would stay again.
Our family of 16 had a wonderful stay at this property. Well stocked kitchen, gorgeous view, unbelievably clean and large pool. Lots of chairs inside and outside. Lots of places to sleep and hang out. We will definitely consider going back. They provided lots of chairs and beach towels and 2 refrigerators. The dock area is about a 1 block walk and i wasn’t sure how to find it but it’s the only dock with no house on the property and 4 places to sit. We rented a pontoon and got on and off at the dock for a fun day of boating. If you walk to the dock you’ll want to use the street to get there. The game room is brand new and a super fun hangout area for teens. We really appreciate being able to bring our well behaved dog. We had one small maintenance issue and got answers and results immediately. Wonderful property!!
The home was beautiful but upon our arrival it was obvious the in-ground pool was unusable. Deanna was very responsive to our issues but the issues were unable to be addressed quickly. The home switched owners about 5 months ago and it is my opinion the new owner is unresponsive and only interested in the money he hopes to make. He did end up coming to the house and we were able to give him a list of the issues we found in the house and the pool. I hope I’m wrong and he brings this house back to its original beauty!
Way too many interruptions and breakdowns. Rented Pool House had sewage smell. Heated pool had heater turned off. Washing Machine broken. Pipes broken at Washing Machine. Box Springs on one bed broken. Dish Washer did not clean dishes. Clothing from prior renters left in drawers. Pets welcome advertised, but printed welcome page at the house stated it was a pet free rental but if pets were brought along there would be an additional pet cleaning fee and original 12:00 PM checkout time was changed to 10:00AM checkout time. There was not one day during our stay that workmen or repairmen were there interrupting our vacation. When the cleaning lady/caretaker arrived at 10:00 AM to clean the Pool House and Game Room she asked permission to enter the house to start the washing machine. I agreed and my daughter found her making the bunk bed with the soiled sheets removed from the bed instead of clean replacement. (not sanitary). Later when the cleaning lady loudly made a complaint about people bringing pets, my daughter had enough and confronted her. She condescendedly put her hand on my daughter's shoulder and apologized. All this was reported to the owner via text. He asked for my thoughts on how to make up for all this and I responded. He never responded back with a counter proposal.
We had some trouble in the beginning (power outage in the game room) but someone was there in less than 10 min. Great space for families. Kitchen fully stocked with everything you need to prepare, cook and eat food. Just bring your food and condiments.
Easy rental process and flexibility with early check in. Heated pool was wonderful as was the finished space above the garage where those of us who wanted to stay up and “make noise” could hang out without disturbing those who wanted to sleep. We were a group of 18 and there was plenty of room for all of us. Overall very happy with our stay!
