Odalys City Apartment Hotel - Colmar Centre

8/10 Good

Grand Hotel Bristol By Stay Collection

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely accommodations, welcoming staff, perfect location directly across from the train station. Used it to tour Colmar. Also took a bus right from the station to Riquewihr. From Riquewihr we took the trail to Kaysersburg and then a bus back to Colmar. 2 Euros each way. Wonderful experience all the way!"

Novotel Freiburg am Konzerthaus

10/10 Excellent

"Very convenient, next to the train station, food and Freiburg Germany, downtown. They should have more US outlets to charge all electronics stuff that was missing. They have only one outlet, thanks god i was fully prepared. Room was spacious bathroom was clean sink was big with counter. Restaurant and Bar was nice. Lot of activity around so did lot of fun."

LOGIS Hôtel Saint-Martin

8/10 Good

"Great little hotel. Absolutely perfect location. Our issue was that they put us in the very top floor. We had a lot of luggage. Elevator was not working and they offered no assistance. The last day the elevator worked for part of the day. I asked for a small refund, like waive the €11 euro tax, they said no. Was a winding wood staircase. 4 flights. With 2 50lb checked luggage and 2 carryons. Can’t beat location and hotel was clean. Room was fine."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tunsel?

The best area to stay in Tunsel is the village centre, particularly around the Hauptstraße.

This area is the heart of Tunsel and offers a peaceful, rural setting. You'll find traditional guesthouses and a few local eateries here, providing a genuine taste of the Baden region. The Hauptstraße is the main thoroughfare, and many properties are located amongst vineyards and orchards.

Couples looking for a quiet retreat will find the village centre ideal. It's a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside with walks or bike rides through the scenic vineyards. The local wineries often offer tastings, providing a relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

For those planning to explore the wider Baden region by car, staying slightly outside the immediate village centre, but still within Tunsel, offers excellent convenience.

When is the best time to go to Tunsel?

The best time to visit Tunsel is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

You'll find the countryside is at its most picturesque, with blooming flowers in spring or vibrant colours in autumn. It's great for couples looking for scenic walks, cycling, or enjoying a relaxed wine-tasting experience.

Families might prefer the summer months (July and August) for their warmer temperatures, which are suitable for outdoor activities like swimming in local lakes or exploring nearby Black Forest attractions. While it can be busier, the longer daylight hours allow for extended exploration and more opportunities for children to enjoy the outdoors.
