"Hotel Mayo is art deco in style, and very well maintained. Rooms are excellently furnished and very quiet. Since it is in the heart of the downtown, Mayo has to run a valet service to its private garage, with an extra charge. It worked well, with almost no wait when you wanted your car, but we had about a 45-minute wait at check-in because cars were lined up to be valet-parked. Coupons were given to us for use at the next-door restaurant-mart, given the inconvenience. Apart from that, my only complaint was that our queen bed was very firm, creating the need to shift around several times during the night. A decent Italian restaurant (Seme) is only a block away."
