The best area to stay in Tulnici is generally within the village centre itself, particularly along or near the main road, DN2D, which runs through the heart of the community.

This central area offers the most convenient access to local amenities and the starting points for exploring the surrounding natural beauty. You'll find the few local shops, eateries, and guesthouses clustered here, making it a practical base for your stay. The general layout is linear, following the main road as it winds through the village.

For couples seeking a tranquil getaway, staying in a guesthouse slightly off the main road but still within the central area can be ideal. These often provide a more private setting with views of the surrounding hills and forests, great for relaxing after a day of exploring the Putna-Vrancea Natural Park. Many guesthouses offer locally sourced meals and a chance to experience traditional Romanian hospitality.

Families travelling with children will also find the central part of Tulnici convenient. Proximity to local shops for essentials and easy access to the main road for day trips to nearby natural attractions, like the Putna Waterfall or the Cheile Tisitei gorges, makes planning activities straightforward.

The best time to visit Tulnici is during the summer months, from June to August, or in early autumn, particularly September, for pleasant weather and outdoor activities.
