Beachside in the middle of a vibrant town.

Great location steps away from the beach with lots of restaurants around. The hotel is in the heart of Huanchaco a vibrant beach town. Comfortable bed, lots of hot water, daily cleaning and a simple breakfast of eggs, bread, jam, coffee and juice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close, a short bus ride, to Chan Chan and the buses pass right by the hotel. We had an ocean view room and two or the glass wall panels slide open which allowed us to really enjoy the sounds of the ocean in our room and a spectacular view of the sunset.

The room was clean, the linens were older. The ladies who prepared and served the breakfast were friendly and efficient. The front desk staff were not helpful or friendly. The shower leaked because the door of the shower would not stay closed unless you held it while you showered. The bath floor was covered in water after every shower. We rang the water out the towels to dry the floor. We were given an extra towel. The front desk staff was seldom available. Hotel policy was to leave your room key in a small basket on the front desk. But there was no one there to watch the keys and the front door, only two steps away, was unlocked into the building. No security for the room keys. Our room was never cleaned and no new towels were provided. The hotel is located across the street from the beach but there is a sea wall and there is no close access to the beach. Very few rooms have a sea view and our room had no sea view at all.

Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location, and terrific view (and sounds!) of the ocean. The room is a little small, but was more than enough for me. The bed and bedding were very comfortable which is not always the case I find locally. I like that they aim for sustainability through solar-powered heat for their water. I suggest asking for a higher room to have some privacy from the street.

If you choose to stay in Huanchaco, this is a good option. Please understand, this is not an American hotel and much similar to what you will find in parts of Europe - maximum this would get two-three stars in America. It is clean, the staff is very nice (only speaks Spanish with limited English). But the views are great, it is right off the main strip. They use traditional keys, the AC is AC not heat, they hand you the remotes when you check in, etc. If I return, I will probably try the Westin in the middle of Trujillo (not sure if they have a better plumbing "situation" then the rest of the city), but I would consider staying here again if I were to stay in Huanchaco.

The sea view from the bedroom was the best part of the hotel, and the fact it has secure parking, but otherwise it was a bit disappointing. Breakfast was ok, nothing wrong with it but very average. However the room was unclean, the toilet leaked, the shower pressure was very weak and the patio doors let in a lot of noise. It was ok for the price.

There is hot water dummies

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews complaining about hot water. We booked 305 and 304. You just have to find the sweet spot. It's not all the way over to the left like what we are used to in the USA and Canada. Just play around. The hot water is def there. Beautiful view of the ocean. I would book again

Pesimo servicio.

Existe una ploriferación de plaga de grillos en el hospedaje, tanto en las habitaciones, baños como en los pasadizos, no hubo luz, en recepción no están 24/7, no tenían agua caliente para la ducha cuando dijeron que sí, hacen trabajos de remodelación y arreglos durante el horario del desayuno por lo que se percibia muy fuerte el olor de pintura durante la ingesta de alimentos y adicional a ello desde temprano se percibia sonidos de los mismos trabajos y no nosndejarok descansar, al final cobraron por todo y no tuvieron consideración en darnos un dscto o algún servicio adicional como cortesía, sin contar que nunca tuvieron el interés en apoyarnos con el estacionamiento y tuvimos que pagar a un vigilante fuera del hospedaje, lo peor fue que al dia siguiente nos percatamos de que había espacio en cochera y nunca nos avisaron. Pésima atención.
