I’ve lived in the area for ten years and have a family member one mile from this place and have never realized this secret hideaway was so close to home! It really is a place to disconnect from the rest of the world yet be close enough to town to grab a meal as there is no stove or run to the store and get back again quickly. No WiFi to distract you from being able to get on your phone, and no tv to really allow you to disconnect and tune...

"We liked the place and enjoyed the deck. Wish we could of got the firepit going. I didn't realize it was a ladder to the loft (extra beds) instead of stairs. Was not feasible for senior citizen women. The rollaway on the lower level was not very comfortable. I also didn't realize it was only a mini fridge and no stove. My error, need to check more closely when booking. We did enjoy our stay and got to visit 9 wineries and some beautiful scenery. I would definitely recommend this place to stay."

"This cozy cabin on stilts is right ON the Mississippi River and offers a great view of the Winfield Lock & Dam facility. We spent more time outside on the covered porch watching the river than we did inside. Our teenage girls spent more time inside and appreciated the comfy furniture, Dish Network, games and updated kitchen. Our animal lover also enjoyed the frequent visits from the neighborhood dogs. "Lovely country decorated log house with two porches and one is enclosed. A lot of small surprise amenities that weren't expected. We felt right at "home". Two ponds for fishing, horses and farm animals you can feed, walking trails, outdoor bbq and fire ring. When the owner happen to see us outside or on the road, he checked to make sure everything was good or he waved as he passed. Felt very secure that if we had a problem, it would be handled promptly. "
