"Beautiful old lodge on a beautiful setting. We stopped at Trout Lake as a way point and didn’t expect much but now know that it is worth a couple days visit. The lodge has been beautifully redone— our lake view room was fabulous. There are kayaks and row boats and even a small

"My family and I book a week long stay in the UP every year, we usually pick a new area to explore. This year's vacation was very disappointing. The bugs were absolutely awful, and trust me I know the UP has bugs, but it was to the point of we couldn't even be outside even with bug spray on. I wish the owners would spray/fog regularly to help with this. Also the paddle boat and canoe were both dirty with bugs and bird poop to the point of us have to clean before use, we left the canoe alone after...
