This former convent has been transformed into a luxury boutique hotel overlooking the sea. The gardens are spectacular and the views are incomparable. It’s far enough away from the town center thanks makes it a quiet retreat but close enough to get to within a few minutes.

The grounds were amazing. The food you are served is mostly grown on the property and every detail and flavour is carefully thought out. Our room was massive, the bathroom was small. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Make sure you eat dinner at the restaurant, its a must. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach (not the easiest walk) and a 10-15 minute walk to town.

Beautiful Hotel in need of Senior Management

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very accommodating. But we felt that no adult supervision was present. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite. While beautiful, the TV didn’t work, the remote needed batteries. I asked 3 times and eventually went and bought my own. AND the suite had a steam room which also didn’t work. And the air conditioning also was not good. We felt awkward asking the staff for help since there were very few of them and ALL were very young. I don’t want to give this hotel a bad rating BUT senior management is sorely missing.

We regret only stayed here for a day! Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an amazing location with spectacular views! Breakfast is great and they even grow their own vegetables here! One of my best ever hotel experiences!

There was a committed high level of excellent service in this place. The property is really something to see. The breakfast and service each morning was excellent The location is close enough to the middle of Tropea but far enough away that you have tremendous peace and quiet if you are still looking for a place to stay in Tropea, stop looking...this is the place

This is off the beaten track. It is a true haven. I only wish I had scheduled my trip to spend more time there. It is special. The next time I go to Italy I will try to stay there for a week - and bring my friends!

Villa Paola is a magical place. When you arrive there is a private and easily accessible parking area adjacent to the property. Then you enter and you are afforded a private tour of the incredible property. Thank you Anna! Our room was spectacular. A room complete with a sauna, a private lounge area and an incredible bedroom. Then we experienced arguably the most incredible dining experience of our lives. Grazie Mille Luca, Maria and the entire De’ Minimi Restaurant Team. An evening we will never forget. The next morning we were treated to a spectacular breakfast in our room. Sadly we had to depart however the team was there to say goodbye and offer additional gifts. Then before we officially departed we spent time in the church connected to the property which represents a unique and special history. I have never been so emotional leaving a property. Villa Paola offers an experience that is beyond comparison...it touches your heart and soul. We are already planning our return.
