The house was dirty. I spend 10 minutes cleaning out the bathtub with hair and dirt. The kitchen countertops had to be cleaned because it placed my hand on it and stuff was on it. No trash bag in garbage can, he had a Walmart bag in a 13 gallon can, but went and bought some. The host met us there for check in. An hour later still checking in because he showed me all of the house. Patio was covered with dirt and leaves. No cushions on furniture because he said it’s the lake. They were on top of pool table that you had to take out 14 of them and uncover to play. TVs would not work in 2 bedrooms because the remotes were bad and no batteries. No extra toilet paper , ran out and had to use napkins I brought, no extra paper towels, microwave had good cake donut, counters dirty, I mean why am I paying a cleaning fee, when it wants clean?

Out of all the VRBO properties we have rented, this one was the most disappointing. The host clearly did not inspect his home prior to our arrival. The air conditioning (both of the units) were not working, which in Texas during the summer makes it miserable. One AC unit was fixed the next day, but that only cooled the master bedroom. The rest of the house was unbearable. Our grandchildren slept on the floor of our bedroom, which, in a 4 bedroom house, made the high rental cost hard to swallow. The host felt that the fans would keep us cool enough, but that didn't help one bit. We couldn't open the windows because there were no screens! Although it was sweltering outside, it was cooler than inside the house. The cleanliness of the house was also lacking. Dead bugs, spiderwebs, and mice droppings were in almost every room. The bathroom rugs seemed to never have been washed. There was trash in all the bins from previous guests. The refrigerator was dirty and had open containers. Trash bags were not provided, so we had to use grocery sacks. The coffee pot was ridiculous to operate, so we had to borrow one from a nearby family member. The roof has a large hole, so mold is likely present. Finally, the listing says there is a swimming pool and fitness center, but the host didn't communicate where these were or how to access them. No written instructions were provided for anything. Beware that there are extra charges for more than two guests. This house is not worth the cost!
