About this property
B R A M A S O L E - A piece of Tuscany in regional Victoria
Welcome to Bramasole - It’s English translation is “Yearning for the Sun”. A gorgeous little cottage in the picturesque town of Trentham. Set in the Highlands of Victoria.
The cottage is set amongst an established garden and set on half an acre. Bramasole is my country home, my retreat to relax and unwind and I am opening it up for others to experience the peace and tranquility of My Country Home. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could want (baking is my therapy), so please enjoy the welcoming ‘homey’ decor.
The whole property is yours to enjoy! There is a fire pit area for you to enjoy a night outside under the stars with a few marshmallows. Firewood is sold just down the road at the IGA. There is also a BBQ with gas bottle you are welcome to use.
Other things to note Daylesford is only an 18 min drive (approx). Lavendula is just past Daylesford which is a beautiful historical Homestead, Cafe and Gardens.

Very private, except for big windows with no blinds - felt a bit exposed.Easy walk to street, quiet and warm.Reading lamps over bed would have been appreciated.
What a beautiful little piece of Tuscany.
Such a perfect secluded location yet close to everything we needed.
Absolutely loved it here, such a homey feel and tastefully decorated.
Views were amazing and Giovanni was such a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for allowing g us to have a wonderful day in your little piece of paradise xx

The Tuscan promotion is no idle exaggeration in terms of interior decorating and exterior, sculpted hedges... Tuscany with views of kangaroos. Well-appointed and equipped kitchen and lounge area, good local provisions, galleries and shopping close by. A heater in the shower area would be useful but great hot water system. Easy access and thoughtful host. I enjoyed my stay.
The property and surrounds were really lovely. The host made the checkin process seamless and provided a delicious recommendation for dinner. The kangaroos in tbe back property were a bonus.
Giovanni was very welcoming and gave good instructions. The location was good, away from any main roads and was nice and quiet. The place was spacious and comfortable.
We loved our stay. Lots of character, private and comfy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The amount of personal clothing and items in the studio was off putting, the washing machine worked, but the dryer is obviously out of order and was packed with personal items of owner. Would be appreciated if there was an outdoor area equipped with washing line if dryer no longer functioning. No Wifi and no TV was disappointing

The host was quick with replies. Decor was quirky and interesting but unfortunately the building itself was a bit shabby. When we arrived there were none of the basics you expect like shampoo, conditioner - no milk for a cup of tea.Found a tin of old -looking tbags and a few coffee pods. Some used butter in crushed covering in a covered dish left on the bench in 30 degree heat. Kitchen blinds falling apart and pretty grotty.Small bed and cupboard with others clothes in it and dryer with some bedding left in it. No blinds on back windows so pretty hard to sleep after early daylight. Television not connected - only there to see DVD's - a bit silly. Most disturbing of all is there are NO opening windows - ( french doors were locked!). Only the front door as entrance and exit which for safety reasons l don't even think would be legal!Back garden overgrown with weeds and long grass.Definitely below standard for a holiday rental.

So disappointing
We checked in at 3pm and checked out at 2am next morning form our 3 night booking as we couldn’t seep..
When we arrived at the property we were greeted with 3 toilet rolls left at the front door, the code for the key box didn’t work, and after 10 minutes of trying, called the owner, he had given us the wrong code.
It looked gorgeous in the photos on Stayz but it was much smaller than the photos suggested and wasn’t very clean.
Cobwebs, dust and dead flies that looked like they had been there for sometime on the windowsill. When taking off the warmer doona, the lighter one underneath had a stain on it. The black fabric coffee table/ ottoman had pet hair all over it.
The TV had no channels & could not be tuned in.
Only DVD’s to watch.
Our biggest issue though was there are no opening windows.
There is an air conditioner but to create air flow so-increased the fan but then it was too noisy & too cold so the only way to get get fresh, non refrigerated air is to sleep with the door open which we were not comfortable doing.
Also realised that the large windows had no curtains nor any other covering so at sunrise there would be no chance of sleeping in.
We gave up, packed up & returned to Melbourne at 2am. So disappointed in our accomodation. We should have read the reviews on Air B&B).
There were just 2 x 5 star reviews for cleanliness on Stayz which was strange ) So many great experiences on Air B&B & Stayz but this was our first disappointment.

It appeared that someone actually lived there, there was washing in the machine and clothes in the dryer, it felt like staying in a strangers home.
