Ostal Blau is located in the countryside but not isolated; just 800 metres away, you’ll find a bakery that also serves as a tobacco shop, newsstand, and small supermarket, as well as large supermarkets less than 15 minutes away. To tantalise your taste buds, there are many local producers in the area offering fresh vegetables, meat, honey, foie gras, and Agen prunes—which you’ll find closest by at the Monredon farm. As for nearby tourist attractions, Lustrac is just a short distance away with its lock and old mill on the Lot River—a truly idyllic spot. In Port de Penne, water activities are available (canoeing, kayaking, pedal boats…), and in Penne d’Agenais, there’s a water playground where you can play and cool off. A little further away, you can discover or rediscover the bastides of Lot-et-Garonne, such as Penne-d’Agenais—now named one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France”—and its basilica, visible from the terrace, as well as Pujols, Monflanquin, and others... All of them offer a variety of events, including fireworks displays, medieval festivals, and gourmet markets during the summer. Further away, about 30 minutes away, you’ll find the Château de Biron and the Château de Bonaguil, as well as the Zanimoland Animal Park and the caves of Lastournelle and Fontirou. About an hour away, for both kids and adults, is the Walygator Sud-Ouest amusement park.
