Very relaxing atmosphere with beautiful landscaping, ponds for fishing, gently moving river for ambience. Restaurant food was delicious; accommodations were clean and comfortable.
The Trap Hill location is great for the hiking we planned. The kitchen is fully equipped and dining outside looking at the river is wonderful. From making the reservation to checkout was smooth and the owners responsive
This was the best property me and my fiancé could chose to stayed at by the mountains. I highly recommend this property, amazing views, great amenities, quiet, peaceful, very clean, very organize. You will not regret this amazing stay… one of my favorites Is the river viewing from the back porch, which was very outstanding
Had a wonderful weekend in the mountains with my wife. Hiked some trails in stone mountain state park. Enjoyed the sounds of the river while we grilled dinner and relaxed for the evening. Good location. Perfect for a romantic getaway.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Roaring River Vineyards, there were 12 of us, a mix of family and friends celebrating Sept/Oct birthdays, we rented all but one of the cabins and one stayed in their RV. The gathering space was perfect for dinner on Friday, a tasting at the vineyard Saturday followed by early dinner at Chez Josephine then birthday celebrations in the gathering space that evening. Will definitely stay her again!
We went to celebrate our 38th anniversary. Checkin was simple and our unit was just as advertised. We had everything we needed.
Roaring River property was absolutely beautiful. The river was fun to walk in and peaceful to listen to. We enjoyed eating at the restaurant overlooking the river.
Josephine and Tom were perfect hosts.
Couldn’t have had a better weekend.
Great property. Loved the view of the river. Unit had everything we needed except a box of Kleenex. We enjoyed our lunch and wine tasting at Chez Josephine. It is a bit remote so not the location for you if you’re looking for nightlife or don’t want to drive a bit to a restaurant for dinner.
I have always loved Roaring River Winery for dining and the wines for over 5 years. The owners are the loveliest couple and I wanted to come back and stay but with Covid and my 102 year old mom being moved back to Florida I just now found the chance to stay in their cabins. Opening the back door and sitting on the patio to listen and view the river brings peace to ones soul.
We came during the week and we pretty much had the grounds to ourselves. Tom showed us the beech for swimming, the clubhouse, the trails on the property, the views from the top of the vineyard. It was great! The restaurant staff was warm and friendly and the pesto fettuccini was delicious! Of course, we had to try the wine flight and we loved it! We had the opportunity to socialize with the folks working and other guests as the weekend approached but pretty much kept to ourselves and relaxed. There are many places to be right on the river and feel solitude but never unsafe. The owner’s dogs roaming was a nice homey touch, too. We really loved our stay and will be coming back!
This was a nice cute place for the weekend. It was a bit cool, (40s) at night and it took the 2 space heaters about 4hrs to get nice and warm. Arrived just as the place was closing. Went out for dinner and picked up a bottle of wine. Back at the cabin we discovered that there wasn’t a corkscrew. The staff gave us one in the morning.
We had a great stay! Secluded and quiet. We were there while the restaurant was closed which was unfortunate but probably kept the property from being as busy as it could be. Will definitely consider going back for future trips. We ate dinner in Elkin and Wilkesboro. Great restaurants in both towns and super close to Stone Mountain for a solid day of hiking/site seeing. 100% recommend.
We love your place! Have been several times and will for sure come again!!! We were sad that the hot tub wasn’t working as we love that amenity when we come.
Very nice room however there was hair in bath tub and sink. Toilet seat was dirty and I had to clean it up. Cabinet door in kitchen was broke. I will definitely stay again but you may want to talk to your cleaning person.
