Stunningly positioned in Townsend - on the "Peaceful Side of the Smokies" - this cabin will charm you with its inviting rustic atmosphere and sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. Your new home away from home has a lovely deck that sits among the treetops, and a wood-burning fireplace to toast your toes as you relax and unwind on chilly mountain evenings.

While Townsend is only a short drive from bustling Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, you’ll find delightful activities without ever leaving town. Visit the Tuckaleechee Caverns or the Smoky Mountain Heritage Museum, or spend a day hiking and fishing in the gorgeous expanse of Great Smoky Mountains National Park (five miles east). Also close by is Maryville (15 miles west), where there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and historic attractions like Fort Craig Spring. Just a short 20-mile drive to the east is Pigeon Forge, which offers all sorts of family-friendly attractions, from the iconic Dollywood to WonderWorks.

CONS - We had to wash all cookware, dishes, and utensils before use due to old food still on them - Bedding was all dirty - Pullout couch absolutely filthy with dead scorpion in mattress, stains/food, and a live wasp - Balcony railing flimsy and unsafe - Non-working hot tub - Satellite non-functional in living room - Needs a good update and deep clean - Residents firing unnecessary amounts of shots after dark (like 20-30 at a time) PROS - View - Privacy - Location (close to amenities) - Dishes, cookware, and utensils available - Working AC and fridge - Plenty of sleep space - Basic travel-size toiletries provided

This cabin was filthy. Crumbs on cabinet. Floors not swept or mopped. Furniture has not been dusted in who knows when. Carpet was so filthy you need to burn it. Hot tub broke. Cable in living room not working. Only in bedroom and the bed should be thrown out with cleaning crew. Only thing good was the view from porch. I should be compensated for staying there. I have been renting for years and this was the worst experience. The rental was through vacasa. I will never rent from them again and would not recommend them to another person or even a dog.

I never received information on how to access the property. After 5 hours, Vacasa finally sent me the code- at 945pm. By then we booked through Another provider and had a much more convenient experience with them. Much faster and more thorough customer service

Cabin was TERRIBLE! Very disgusting and dirty. Hot tub was not filled and full of dead bugs. Carpet ripped up. Bugs on floor, Dirty towels, broken scrren on patio door. Horrible response from Vacasa Property management hists. Left cabin shortly after arrival and called and texted hosts. Had to rent a different cabin with a different company.

Only the view
I’m going to start with the positive. The view was amazing and the highlight of the cabin. The view is definitely not worth the night fee. The cabin was about equal to a state park cabin rental or worse. There where no screens in the windows. Therefore there as no opening windows. There was a broken window when we got there that wouldn’t close. My husband fixed it. The door lock was also broken like someone broke in a time or two. My husband also fixed that the cleaning fee should be obsolete. Actually we should get paid a cleaning fee for staying there. The hot tub DOES NOT WORK, but there is no longer a inch of water in the bottom The carpet is so gross and the furniture on the side of the road is better than the furniture in this place. Two out of the four people in our party where bitten by spiders. ( yes it is a cabin in the woodS)

Poorly maintained
Vacasa sent me an early check in stating it was ready, it wasn’t. When it was finally ready, it was not clean. There was dust caked on the ceiling fan, beams, door frames, and walls. The whole cabin smelled badly like mold and mildew, a note was left on the hot tub saying it was out of order and empty, the property had a lot of damage. Cracked bathroom window and sink, kitchen cabinets damaged and broken along bottom, hole in carpet covered by another badly cut piece laid across hole with paper towels folded under it, hole in screen door, the carpet was stained and had a really dirty feel on your feet. It was poorly maintained and very dirty. We were disappointed with the cabin and the rental company because all they did was say they were sorry. I was still charged a hot tub fee for a hot tub that didn’t work and a cleaning fee when it doesn’t look like anything was cleaned aside from new sheets being put on the beds.

This is false advertisement!! Do not stay here if you looking for a romantic get away. Hot tubs broken obviously for awhile. Whole house is DIRTY and I know dirty I run a cleaning service. Breaker kept blowing. I could go on and on. Also, they won't refund your money or when you ask to cancel reservation so you could go somewhere else because of the false advertising they still want to charge you. We travel all the time and this has by far been our worst experience.

Excellent view, cabin very dated.
The view was amazing! A/C worked great. Cabin was clean on surfaces, but walls very dusty and floors dirty. Carpet very poor condition. Hot tub was off, took 2 days to warm up. Driveway not motorcycle friendly at all. No washer, dryer, grill, or outdoor fire pit. Cabin covered all the basics, with the view being awesome.

the ft door will open by it self the carpet needs to be removed hot tub is a storage ben you need a four wheel drive vehicle to reach the cabin if you want to cook something bring your kitchen i can keep going i will say this the area is nice and the town is beautiful

False Advertising
The property was difficult to find because there were no road signs like the directions had stated. The hot tub is broken and has 5 inches of dirty water in the bottom of it. The whole reason I got this cabin was for the indoor hot tub which I was expecting to be in working order based on the pictures and profile. The carpet was dirty and there were very limited accomodations/amenities. Won't be staying here again.

Not what we expected.
It was a long drive from Connecticut to Tennessee we were looking forward to a relaxing cabin in the mtns. However there was no one there at check in and the GPS failed to get us to the location. We called vacasa which got us to the site it looked as though someone had just been there and left due to the tire tracks in the mud. First off there was trash all surrounding the outside of the property including cans and cigarette butts. But also construction debris as well. The door barely opened/shut so that was a bit of a security concern. The inside of the cabin was in need of maintenance as well. The faucets all leaked and the carpet looked like it was from the 70s the beds were very worn out and the sheets were minimal. (Luckily we packed our own) They called me the evening before we arrived to let me know the hot tub was not working ( which was a major reason we selected like cabin) but they left about a foot of standing water that was now filled with dead flies in it. The cable worked but there was no wifi or service to be spoken of.. If it wasn't for the view out the back deck we would of been asked to be relocated.
