The Blue Door Cabin: Charming, All-Wood w/Screened-in Porches - quiet & relaxing

Welcome to The Blue Door Cabin in Townsend, TN - "The Peaceful Side of the Smokies" ... Open the door, claim your bed (queen on the first floor, queen & twin trundle in the loft), grab a beverage (complimentary hot coffee available at your arrival), and enjoy on one of the many screened-in porches where you can unwind in tranquility (depending on recent rainfall, you can hear nearby running water too).

Our charming and cozy, all-wood cabin is perfect for individuals on retreat, couples, friends who are getting together, and small families. The cabin sleeps up to 5 guests - there is a queen bedroom with a door on the first floor and a queen bed with twin trundle in the loft. We also offer 2 bathrooms - with a shower on the 2nd floor and a jacuzzi tub on the first floor.

Our specialty is your special occasion and/or newcomers to the Smoky Mountains; we are Smoky Mountain Enthusiasts and Townsend locals - so we would be delighted to help you with any of your trip-planning needs!

The Blue Door Cabin is located within a private, gated community and the drive to our location is mostly flat. We are located just minutes from the entrance to The Great Smoky Mountains, Cades Cove Cellars, Tuckaleechee Caverns, River Rats, The Dancing Bear, the Heritage Center, and the Foothills Parkway (to name a few).

Over the summer, guests can use the Honeysuckle Pool on Happy Hollow Road in Wears Valley for $5 per person, per day. The day pass also includes a fishing permit to catch and release in the private pond.

The fireplace is available for use October through April.

Guests of the Blue Door Cabin enjoy our cleanliness, the screened-in porches, the flat and paved roadway to cabin, and REAL hosts (no robots nor management company).

Perfect quiet hideaway in the Smokies!

We absolutely loved the privacy this cabin offered, and everything was so well appointed! The close proximity to the National Park and Townsend as well as a short drive to Maryville allowed us to truly enjoy our time.

Weekend Trip

Very nice and clean cabin in a very quiet area. It is decorated very well and owners have thought of a lot of little details that make the place stand out compared to others we have stayed at. We love how close it was to get into the park without going through any traffic.

The quiet side of GSMNP

This was a great location to experience the area without being in the business of some of the more highly developed areas, yet we were still close enough to venture in for the experience when we wanted to. Wonder place for our family.

Amazing weekend getaway!

We had booked this for a quiet weekend getaway. Both me and my husband absolutely enjoyed our time here. The hosts have put in a lot of thought for the decor at this place, which we absolutely adored. It was in a great location, pretty close to the park entrance which was an added advantage.

This cabin is perfect! You’re just minutes from the park. It’s also close enough to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg without being in the middle of that craziness if you done want to deal with that. The owners were extremely helpful and were quick to respond to any questions we had. Will definitely be staying here for future trips

Amazing!! Best rental ever

I’ve stayed at many home rentals and this is the first where I definitely want to come back. Such close proximity to the park, serene location, such great details to everything and Elena is highly responsive. The kitchen is fully stocked so we cooked all our meals no problem, the screened-in porches are wonderful, the jacuzzi bath is perfect after hiking (same with the washer/dryer)

Blue Door Cabin

This sweet cabin is tucked into the trees and almost out of sight of anyone passing. We loved the screened porches. It has everything you need: washer/dryer, dishwasher, coffee bar, 2 beds and even a foot massager. We didn’t want to leave.

Lovely cabin nestled in the woods!

My daughter and I did Mother's Day weekend in this lovely cabin. The cabin was so homey and decorated so nicely. It had EVERYTHING you might need and more! Loved the porches and we loved the quiet spot where we were. Elena was so nice to deal with, even left flowers in the cabin for Mother's Day! Such a nice surprise. We would absolutely rent again - wish they accepted pets!

Cabin was nice. Beds were comfortable. Mostly quiet except for occasional vehicle. But heating system was not working. Hosts responded very quickly to the concern but hard to get HVAC folks at the last minute. Made it a little uncomfortable being cold.

Wonderful! Such a cozy cabin with a relaxing screened porch. After a half day of hiking, we got to sit there and enjoy the rain. Very refreshing to be in nature yet close to civilization. Even saw a bear come from the woods and walk down the driveway- from the safety of the porch! Amenities just as described and just what was needed. The location is very accessible to a few great restaurants, a coffee shop and general shopping. And of course, to hiking trails. Very grateful for such a wonderful stay in the Smokies!

Wonderful Cabin

My family and I truly enjoyed the space, location, and overall vibe of the Blue Door Cabin! It was peaceful, packed with wildlife, surrounded by fireflies at night, and perfect for a family! The hosts were responsive and ready to accommodate a larger group of 5! Definitely would return next Summer!

Just Dirty

This facility was so dirty we couldn’t stay. We contacted the property owner as soon as we arrived. They responded quickly by stating that they would come over right away. Their response was followed up with accusations that our claim was untrue rather than just coming to check and see for themselves. This is our 25th anniversary, and at this point, my wife was in tears. I decided that we would leave and find somewhere clean to stay even if it meant giving up the cost of the cabin, so we put our belongings back in the car and left.The owners did refund our money fully. There was dust built up so badly that you could write your name on the wall with your finger. The master bed was rumpled and smelled as if it had been slept in.There were articles lying around on the porches, as if someone has been there only moments before we arrived.The coffee table had sticky spots on it, and the cabin was poorly lit, which made us feel like we were in a cave.We were also welcomed to buy an overgrown yard and a porch poorly maintained, covered in leaves and debris.We could only locate 2 towels and washcloths, there were no paper towels in the kitchen, no wash rag, and only one dish towel. Overall, the cabin was just poorly stocked and poorly cleaned and maintained.This could be a really great place, but the cabin owners need to spend some time evaluating their process for stocking the cabin, as well as understanding the definition of clean.
