About this property
Relax on the Quiet Side – Hot Tub & Serenity!
Townsend calls itself the peaceful side of the Smokies, and that is the honest pitch for this cabin. It sits inside a private resort at the end of a paved one-lane road, quiet enough to get away from the hustle and bustle and hear the gentle noises of the Smoky Mountains.
The hot tub is on the deck, a great place to end up after dark. Inside there's a gas fireplace under cathedral ceilings, a TV and wif, and a charcoal grill outside for the nights you'd rather cook than drive anywhere.
The kitchen is a real kitchen. Stainless appliances, granite counters, and enough equipment to cook a homemade dinner.
Sleeping is a primary bedroom with its own bathroom and a stand-up shower, plus a king bed up in the loft. The property sleeps four.
Dogs are welcome. One dog, fifty pounds or under, for a $30 pet fee paid at booking. We provide a dog bed, bowls and waste bags, and we ask that you clean up after them and don't leave them outside unattended. No cats or other pets. (see below for further details).*
The resort has a swimming pool for guests only, a pavilion, paved roads throughout and security cameras at the entrance. The cabin sits where you're unlikely to see another guest at all.
The national park is about half an hour away. Cades Cove, the hiking trails and the horseback riding are all out that direction, and Mt LeConte is there for anyone who wants the long climb. Pigeon Forge is under twenty miles, and the drive over through Wears Valley is worth taking slowly for the antique shops, the distilleries and the wineries along the way. Gatlinburg is about twenty-five miles, which is close enough for the aquarium or the ski resort in winter without being close enough to hear it.
Your stay includes $940.00 in complimentary activities. Just by booking with us, you’ll receive free tickets, every day of your stay to top activities like Dollywood, Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway, and more. (One free admission per activity, per day)
Worth knowing before you arrive: the road in is a paved single lane with light posts along it, but it winds, and finding the cabin the first time is easier in daylight. We'd suggest arriving before dark and following the directions we send rather than trusting your phone. There's a map across from the pool and pavilion if you need it. The cabin is number 146.
Small trailer parking is available if you're towing.
*If you plan to bring a dog, there are a few rules that must be followed: 1. Please inform me in your message if you are bringing a dog. I am happy to host you and your dog, but would greatly appreciate a heads-up. 2. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture, specifically the bed. By booking this cabin, you are agreeing to pay a $30 pet fee. 3. Please clean up after your dog. If excessive damage is incurred during your stay, we will charge you for additional cleaning/repair fees.
The dog must be flea and tick-free. The dog must be house-trained. Guests will always keep the dog on a leash outside the cabin. Guests will not leave the dog unattended outside the cabin. Guests are responsible for cleaning up any dog waste. Dog waste bags are provided. A dog bed is provided. Dog bowls are provided. As responsible pet owners, Guests agree to accept complete responsibility for any personal injury or property damage caused by the dog or suffered by any person during Guests’ stay.
We do recommend AWD or 4WD in inclement weather. This property has steep and winding roads to get to the property. The best way to park is to go past the property and to back in. Please keep in mind this property has mountain roads. 16 steps are required to enter the property.
**Magnolia Vacation Rentals is not liable for any disruptions, damages, or cancellations caused by acts of God or weather-related events. In accordance with health and safety regulations, all hot tubs are drained, sanitized, and refilled between guest stays. As a result, the hot tub may require additional time to reach optimal temperature and may not be fully heated the first night of your stay. All guests are required to review and sign a renter’s agreement prior to check-in. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your reservation against unexpected changes or emergencies.**

Lovely, though older, cabin in a wonderful location. Our stay was effortless and the price was less than having to get two motel rooms. Best value in the Smokies.
Excellent place, a fun and relaxing stay, and perfectly conducive to get the creative energy flowing! I wrote some really cool stuff here, and I love that this place will be part of the legacy of this current project I’m on. FANTASTIC communication from the host. I always felt cared for and prioritized as a guest! Easy check-in process, great views and amenities, and an overall awesome time!
Cute cabin, fantastic view, road was really steep but it was fine, counter tops/table tops were not cleaned, but that was the only issue, and easily fixed by us. Great stay all around!
Great communication. Loved the location and being surrounded by nature. It was a great place to go unplug from all the noise and get alone with the Lord.
The cabin was very comfortable, well equipped, cozy, and pet-friendly. The hosts were helpful and friendly. We loved the area and will recommend this particular cabin to friends and family.
Everything was great. View was stunning. Cabin had Everything we needed. I wish there were screens on the windows so i could get some fresh air at night. I was very warm and i forgot my fan. Hot tub was great to soak in after a long day exploring. We didn't bring our dog because most of the attractions didn't allow pets. Great vacation.

We enjoyed this stay so much. Contrary to the info listed there was plenty of coffee and all the things we needed for a wonderful stay. It’s so peaceful, and we want to come back and stay again soon! The host was wonderful and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed.5 stars!!
Very nice property and loved the location. Only concern was the steep roads to access cabin. It rained a couple of days and it took us four tries to get to the cabin in my vehicle.

The roads leading to the cabin are extremely steep, slippery and dangerous. Backing out of the driveway is very hard. We decided not to drive to or from the cabin on a rainy day for fear we would not be able to make it back. 4WD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND NEEDED IF ROADS ARE WET. Hot tub jets barely blow. No instructions so maybe we did something wrong. Fire extinguisher under sink is dead. Needs replacing. Shower water barely hot. Toilet seats coming loose and had to be tightened to safely use. Lock on main door is insufficient and would not stop anyone. Overall cleaning around outside and windows needed.
This was probably the best equipped cabin we'd ever stayed in. It was exactly as described and we loved everything about it. We're both from East TN so we're very familiar with mountain roads. Our host Tim was fantastic. Always replied within minutes before our arrival which by the way we were able to check-in an hour early which was great after driving 4 hours. We will definitely be a repeat guest. We actually had an unexpected visitor Friday morning. Pic attached of the black bear that came out of the woods for breakfast, lol. No we DID NOT feed him after a few minutes he went on his way.
We enjoyed our stay. The pictures online made the cabin look larger thrn actually was. Bathroom in master bedroom extremely small. The hot tub did not have any chemical tablets in the floater and none found in the cabin so we did not get in and use because it appeared dingy. The coffee pods were greatly appreciated. Thank you for a great stay.
The cabin was good and exactly as advertised. The road up to the cabin is very steep. I would be cautious if any winter weather is expected during your stay. However, at the end of our stay we got a message that there was damage to a projector screen that is outside on the deck that we used one time. My wife was the only one that touched the screen and she said she never noticed any damage to the screen when she rolled it back up. No evidence was presented to me that the damage even exists. (Photo evidence should be pretty easy to come up with.) They just reported it was damaged and they were keeping a portion of my security deposit. At this time I don't even know if there was any damage. But they did take over 100 from me, so that's neat.On the other hand, we do have a photo of when we used the screen and it appears to be completely intact. Be cautious.
