Beautiful Getaway amazing views! Sleeps 6

Silas’s Hideaway is a newer home just outside of the town of Dushore in Sullivan County, nested on a hillside to enjoy the views.
We have very good internet, and a Very large 2 sided wrap around deck with deck chairs and table. Two bedrooms, Sleeps 6 with 3 Queen beds. All bed linens and pillows are provided. Bath is fully stocked with towels and bath. We have two the freestanding air conditioner units in kitchen living room areas, and one in the large bedroom, and a window unit in the other bedroom. We usually place the a/c units in towards the end of June. And are in place till cool weather arrives.
The kitchen has a gas stove, full size refrigerator with a ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, mixer and coffee maker and a Keurig. Cabinets are stocked with dishes, glassware, silverware, pots pans and utensils for both the home and outdoor grill area.
Large open concept living area. With sofas, recliner, we have great internet service with smart TV, (so can access over 200 channels also you are able to sign into your Netflix, You Tube, etc accounts) and a DVD player with movies, and a stereo and speakers .
Silas Hideaway has a stone stacked fire pit which features two custom made bench. We took a 100 year old piece of farm equipment apart and turned it into bench’s.
Also bring your charcoal we have a park style grill right off the back deck of the home with quick easy access to the kitchen.

Something we have invested in UV Germicidal lamps, we use these after each guest leave , for disinfection. Also our home is throughly cleaned after all guests leave.

Silas’s Hideaway is located near Worlds End State Park and Ricketts Glen State Park.

Fun for all

My husband & I planned on a relaxing weekend away but we wound up taking 2 of our grandkids along. Two boys ages 13 & 4. It wasnt relaxing as we originally planned but we very much enjoyed our time away together as did tthe gas did both grandkids!

Super location

Thank you for our stay here! Our 13 year old loved having her own room. The kitchen was very well equipped and we cooked most of our meals. The view was awesome. We will be back for sure!

I thought this place was amazing! It had gorgeous views, the lawn was mowed, the stars came out at night..Too bad it didn't have a hot tub! But it was amazing!

Clean place, convenient terrible shower

This place is very clean and it has just one floor. It’s very close to Dushore and has a great and well stocked kitchen. The beds are comfortable and the heating and AC work well. My biggest issues is the shower. I don’t usually like very hot water when I shower but this shower was barely above body temperature. We spoke to the owners, but didn’t do anything or came to check on it. The view is ok. There is a highway right in front. I probably would not stay here again.

Very Clean and comfortable

The rental was clean and comfy. Ended up just being my husband and I, my newphew and neice were planning to come but my neice injuried her knee and decided not to come because we planned on hiking, they would have enjoyed this place also. Was nice that linens were included. Bed was comfortable. We had a nice time sitting and relaxing at the fire and grilling. Pa Grand Canyon is about 1 1/2 hours away we hiked there one day then World's End the next, World's end is about 20 minutes, easy drive. Ricketts Glenn is also about 20 minutes. It was nice that fire wood was also avaible at the property (they just ask for a small donation). The area is very nice , everyone we talked to was very nice. We did go to D&D brew works that was pretty close, it is not a brewery but they had a nice bar and great food. We already talked about coming back and staying here again. Thank you for sharing your place!

Lovely Little House

This property was lovely and the description very accurate. The view is just like the picture and can be seen both on the deck and through the huge picture window in the living area. The house was spotless and is relatively close to Worlds End, Loyalsock and Ricketts Glen state parks. After a day of exploring, it was nice to spend some time around the fire pit. As our purpose for our trip was to see waterfalls, this was a great location. Being older hikers, we did not attempt the Ricketts Glen loop, but there are a few waterfalls near the bottom of the Glen that are an easy hike, such as Adam's Falls, Kitchen Falls (under the bridge when you cross the road from Adam's Falls) and Murray Reynolds Falls.The Evergreen trail for Adams Falls has steps to help with the decent. At Loyalsock State Forrest we hiked to the Dutchman Falls, The upper part of the trail is rocky and a little steep, but the lower part of the hike is flat and easy. We drove to the High Knob Overlook (in Loyalsock state park) and enjoyed the beautiful view, then on our way down, we stopped at Dry Run Falls which is a true roadside waterfall. We drove up to Loyalsock Canyon Vista to enjoy the views there and explored the Rock Garden while there. I include these things for anyone who loves nature and is looking for some less strenuous things to do in the area. We always read the reviews to help us decide on our vacation rental, lol, so I hope this is helpful! (Also, waterfalls are best viewed in the spring!)

A quick weekend

This house was exactly as described and perfectly what we needed when in town visiting family. While we did not spend much time at the house, it was fully stocked with anything and everything you may need (and didnt even know you needed) in a home away from home! Highly recommend.

Exceeded expectations

This was the perfect place for our family of 4 to spend the last two nights of a very busy camping/hiking trip. After spending some time hiking at Worlds End State Park we stayed here. I realaxed on the porch while my husband and sons went fishing. A nice little reprieve. Hit the three C's...cute, comfy, and clean. Host was great to work with as well.
