Mereta Castle – 15th c. castle near Portofino & Cinque Terre, pool, sea view

10/10 Excellent

"Absolutely the most unique VRBO we’ve ever stayed in. It’s actually like a mini castle. Mini isn’t really the correct word as the place is huge. The grounds are beautiful and the view cannot be beat. Other than sleeping, we spent most of our time in the kitchen or the gigantic balcony on the third floor. The kitchen was a great place for us to cook, drink wine and just hangout. The balcony has one of the best views I’ve ever seen. See pic. We spent most evenings here enjoying wine and watching the sun set over the hills and sea. The area of Chiavari is beautiful and so are the people. We had wonderful meals at small family-owned restaurants in the hills. Alberto and Silvia are wonderful hosts. Their communication is great. I made a mistake while booking and they worked with us to correct. We also wanted to stay another day because we loved being there and they were very easy to work with to make this happen. If we ever make it back to this part of Italy, we hope this property is available for us. Do not hesitate to book this VRBO!!!"

The Cin: a villa with a pool surrounded by forest. Fabulous view of the sea.

10/10 Excellent

"A lovely and well stocked home. The home was spacious and supplied with everything you could need to make your stay very comfortable. The best part of the house was the hilltop view of the Ligurian Sea. Winding down at the end of the day with a homecooked meal, a glass of wine and a breathtaking view of the sea was wonderful. The mountain road leading to the house was narrow at times, but very doable with some practice and increased confidence. For those traveling from North America who might not be used to narrow roads, keep that in mind and enjoy the new experience of driving on Italian roads and don't rent a large car;)"

A corner of paradise surrounded by nature in the Ligurian hinterland

10/10 Excellent

Oltremare Guest House

10/10 Excellent

"Our experience was absolutely amazing! Stefano and his wonderful family made my family and me feel so welcome and at home. The room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and very private, with air conditioning and a TV. The pool was always clean and available whenever we wanted to use it. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast, dinner, and the boat experience. We truly loved everything about our stay. Highly recommended!"

albergo capannette di pei

10/10 Excellent

"This was genuinely the most incredible stay. The hosts were so incredibly hospitable, the place was absolutely breathtaking, and the whole experience was so serene and lovely! We had a fantastic meal cooked freshly for us with authentic local cuisine, drinks on the terrace overlooking the mountains, and hospitality that is rare to find these days! I can’t recommend this stay enough."
