Lovely Hotel with a lot of history. The location is great for exploring or the beach is right on your doorstep if you prefer to chill or try some water sports All the staff are friendly and helpful.
Great location, spacious comfy rooms. Would stay again. Only negative is that there’s no late checkout or even somewhere to have a shower on the last day if your leaving after 12. Spoke to the hotel and they will only suggest the pool.
The Pez Espada is a lovely hotel, room very comfortable and clean, food, plentiful and varied, staff always helpful and friendly, in a very nice location. The entertainment was very good, all together a good break. One of our party was 80 on new years day and the gave him a bottle of Cava and a small cake which was much appreciated, we hope to go again as soon as possible. Pat and Ian xx
Super hotel. Clean, service amazing, location fab and brekkie had lots of variety. Disappointed no entertainment at the pool. In our 5 days there we saw archery once for half an hour. We were looking forward to some pool activities but nothing.
Amazing stay at the Pez Espada. Lovely food, something for everyone. Restaurant staff are amazing, friendly and work tirelessly. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished to a high standard. well equipped, comfortable rooms a fridge and nice power shower. The maids leave the rooms spotlessly clean. Read up on the history of the hotel - very interesting. Only minus points are the walls in the rooms could be soundproofed, advertising what entertainment is on each evening. Would highly recommend and will be going back.
We could not fault the Pez Espada hotel. We had a lovely experience on our week long stay there. We went half board and have to commend the staff in the restaurant, so efficient and pleasant when clearing plates. Cleaning all the time. Breakfast and dinner food selection was fab! We loved it all. Its a beautiful hotel right on the beach. The only fault i saw with this hotel was the stairs down to tbe reception. The steps of the stairs are pizza shaped and spiral...we saw 2 people slip on the stairs while walking down the narrow part of step. Maybe a sign to say keep left on tbe step might help. We will be back again !
Room / Black mold in the shower tray, several episodes of dirty brown water from the shower and sink tap. Restaurant / Good selection at breakfasts and dinner, unfortunately it was always either warm or cold, one microwave to heat food for the whole restaurant was ridiculous. So called Gala Xmas Dinner was pathetic. Mushroom soup with hard to chew mushroom pieces, a small piece of salmon served with seven peas, with a main course of two small round pieces of turkey without any vegetables whatsoever. A small piece of cake for dessert. No prior seating plan, everyone was just told where to sit on arrival, if you arrived before friends or relatives the chances of sitting together were nil, a total mess of a dinner service. A Christmas holiday experience was totally ruined, how this hotel was given four stars is beyond me, I have stayed in three star hotels in the past which were far more better run and serviced. I would not recommend this hotel on so many points. Please don’t waste your money.
The hotel itself it beautifully restored in its original MCM style. Check-in staff were friendly but a little flustered. Excellent breakfast buffet, one of the best I've experienced anywhere in the world. Room and communal areas impeccably clean. Fast, free internet connection. A shame that I was directed to the parking spaces next to the hotel, which I only found out at check-out was charged at €15 per day. Plenty of free parking available right outside the hotel which I would have happily used had I known about the charge. Why wouldn't I return? One thing: the room was unbearably warm, even in November. Turning the aircon down to minimum still resulted in warm air being pumped into the room. I'd estimate that it was around 30 degrees in there, far too warm to comfortably sleep. Upon asking at reception, I was told that the central aircon system had been switched off for the winter and only heating was available. The only solution I found was to leave the balcony sliding doors open. Not the best thing for security and it also meant that it was very noisy at night. You have to choose between not sleeping because of the heat, or not sleeping because of the noise. In summary, there's so much to recommend in this hotel, but the heating/aircon situation means that I will not return.
