"It's a bit far from Gangneung Station, but the nearby traditional market makes it a nice area to explore. The hotel is a bit old, but the room condition was satisfying for the price. I stayed on the 14th floor for two nights and enjoyed the open city view and the breakfast. One inconvenience was the lack of USB ports for charging, so a travel adapter is necessary.

"We had a wonderful budget stay with 8 family members. Enough space for social time, good breakfasts and hosts. Gangneung has a lot to offer, the local markets, churches, historical buildings plus lots of good eateries nearby & over the seaside. Just keep your eyes open. We don't speak korean but everyone was friendly & helpful. Bus access is nearby though we drove mostly as a group. Just be mindful that you may need to stay out between 1000-1500 for it's cleaning time. "
