"Although I filled in a questionnaire and handed it in at Melfort Village reception when I left I have completed this one as well because I really enjoyed my week there.The weather was lovely and the views to die for. My friends and I had a day on Luing with lunch at the Atlantic Islands Centre which was excellent. Disappointing that the Shower of Herring was closed from Monday.My only complaint was that when I arrived on Saturday Sept.14th in torrential rain and gales there was no heating on...

"We had a wonderful stay at Melfort. A few days on our own, then joined by our daughters and baby grand daughter, we were cosy, warm and relaxed. The lodge was perfect, baby gates and highchair provided, and the pool lovely and warm, encouraged a swim every day! The staff are friendly and super helpful, even giving the wee one a present from Santa before she left! This was our third visit, and it definately won't be our last."

Ein wenig getrübt wurde der Aufenthalt dadurch, dass ständig gelüftet werden muss, weil das Holzhaus sonst etwas muffig riecht. "In a week of rain we managed to find many dry days. The location of the village was outstanding with views of the loch and an abundance of birdlife ( I counted 40 species in the area in the week). Melfort has great access to the isles through Oban and the coastline along the A 816 offers opportunities for gardens (Arduaine) and loch views from Ardfern.
