Lodge at Schroon Lake

10/10 Excellent

"Clean room. Nice amenities."

Super 8 by Wyndham Ticonderoga

10/10 Excellent

"The man at the front desk was so helpful with restaurant suggestions. The breakfast was small but at least we had something to start our day. This is right next to Walmart if you need something. It worked well for our party as we ended up needing two rooms on short notice. They were very accommodating."

Emrose Luxury Cabins

8/10 Good

"The cabins are new and well maintained. There are pots and pans and spatulas but incredibly no coffee maker. I don’t believe I’ve ever stayed in a room at any price point without a coffee maker. Also, the bed is up against a wall so you have to choose who has to crawl in and out of the bed to go to the bathroom, get a glass of water, etc. Not fun. There was also no contact information for management, so when we couldn’t figure out how to get the heater or fireplace working, we had to chat with Hotels.com who claimed our room did not have heat. Really? Vermont in the fall? Are you kidding me? After I almost lost my mind, they had someone from hotel management call me and instruct me how to turn the heat on. He was very nice and solved the problem, but how about providing contact information of someone on premises if there is an issue? The place is fairly new, and I like the concept, but they have a few things to iron out before they are ready for prime time. Let’s start with an $25 coffee maker in every room. Is that too much to ask? And Hotels.com really needs to get their chat proficiency together…."

Glamping Escape House - reconnect with nature without giving up comfort.

10/10 Excellent

"The fact that 1 dog was welcome is the primary reason I chose this location. Another reason was the proximity to an event I was attending. The location is in a very undeveloped area, but the camp is fairly close to a road as the bird flies, high above and visually removed from it. Noise from the road was not any problem, and good roads nearby was a plus. The owner has a house on the road into the camp, well separated from camp. I liked this, they didn't bother me, and nice to have help nearby. The road in is was a well maintained gravel up and down winding way around rocky terrain. The owner had a large pile of road material and a front loader on site to keep it in good shape. However- if you don't know how to drive when you have to take ground clearance seriously, and have a very low undercarriage, maybe not for you.Another thing I liked is the wifi internet connection. Cell phone coverage was weak in some places around there, I wanted to be sure I could communicate with the event I was attending. VERY convenient to Fort Ticonderoga, which I visited, and highly recommend. There are other sites to visit nearby as well. I crossed on the Ticonderoga Ferry, the oldest continuous Vermont business, which is also nearby. Talk to the owner who runs the ferry if you go. Learning the details of operating the ferry while talking with him, his love for history and the legacy he contues is obvious. In conclusion- I had a very good experience, and recommend this location."

Expansive Eagle Lake Escape w/ Boathouse + Beach

10/10 Excellent

"Highly recommend this place for a large group with the goal of a relaxing week/end. Place had as much room as advertised and plenty of space outside to enjoy the peaceful lake. Multiple kitchens and grilles were very helpful for cooking all our meals. 5 stars."
