This is a very old hotel. No lift/elevator so that is something to consider. Blood stains on my bed wrap (more for decoration) Alerted front desk and guy was really nice and came and removed it. Paint peeling from bathroom ceiling. Noisy outside as my room faced the busy street.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of places to put/hang your toiletries or clothing on. I think the walls are thin because it was quite noisy. The shower pressure was weak and although breakfast was good, there were no millk alternatives.

The staff were amazing. They couldn’t do enough for us. We had a lovely dinner. We were cycling and they made a space for us to store our bikes safely inside which was very kind. Lovely experience.

Enjoyable stay at smart hotel

Excellent stay at a very smart hotel. Rooms, bar and restaurant all well appointed and very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast and the the two evening meals were also very good.

One night stay

Nice comfortable hotel in a convenient location . Nice size room and good shower . Breakfast was nice and an evening meal in the restaurant was good quality. Ask for a quiet room as ours was next to a fire door that shut with a bang every time it was opened and was also next to the maids room which at about 7.30 am was extremely noisy.

The staff was lovely and accommodating. We arrived late from the last train and had an easy and enjoyable walk from the station to the hotel. The kind woman on the phone assured us that they could accommodate our late check in, and when we arrived, the night porter was super friendly. The staff was also very gracious when we misread the checkout time and were late for that as well.

Such friendly staff and first class service, very helpful and accommodating. Child friendly everywhere which makes such a difference. First trip back to my birth place in 54 years and the Hotel and Staff made me so welcome and provided anything I needed and when I needed it. Proper service !
