The waterways around Jakarta and absolutely filthy, no other word for it. Those responsible for city infrastructure either cannot cope or do not try hard enough. You'll see people swimming in here. Look at the smart new buildings behind. What a contrast!  #water
Here is the breath-taking view from the new second tallest building in #Jakarta which was just opened, Sahid Sudirman Centre. From its roof top you will see the new famous 'X of Jakarta', a crossing elevated road that makes a letter 'X'.

Sahid Sudirman Center has 59 storeys with 258 meters height or it is just 4 metres away from Wisma 46 which has been the tallest building in Indonesia with its 261.9 metres.

Borobudur, or Barabudur, is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. The monument consists of six square platforms topped by three circular platforms and is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. A main dome, located at the center of the top platform, is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues each of which is seated inside a perforated stupa. It is the world’s largest Buddhist temple, as well as one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world.

5. Istiqlal Mosque

Opened in 1978, Istiqlal Mosque took 17 years to complete and was erected to memorialize Indonesia’s independence from the Netherlands. Its name, Istiqlal, means independence in Arabic. The mosque stands opposite Jakarta Cathedral. Notice how the two buildings showcase the nation’s acceptance of religious diversity.
