Stopped overnight here when driving from Quebec to Boston. Beautiful location and setting and the cabins were of a really high standard. Joe was friendly and helpful
2 queen bedroom is clean, big and comfortable. Hot water on demand but had to wait for about a minute for it to start running. Shower pressure is good. Quick check in though the staff was not expecting us as we had booked on the same morning.
Beautiful setting, beautiful lodge. Tasteful and comfortable room. Great staff.
Could have used a hook in bathroom to hang clothing.
Otherwise, exceptional.
All in all the place was very nice. Surrounding were spectacular - very beautiful lakefront - very relaxing and quiet. Can't say the same for the room itself. It was very noisy owing to the proximity to the highway where heavy trucks roared by about every 20 minutes beginning around 3AM/
Visited in the off-season so the place was pretty much ours to run. Such a nice and serene place right by the lake. The interior was exactly what was expected with phenomenally comfortable beds and a ton of towels (how can other hotels not do this?).
Had a crazy experience tied to a lightning strike right next to the cabin, but that is obviously an anomaly and has no impact on the review beside adding a lot more adventure to our story.
We arrived late after dark and our room was ready and waiting on our arrival. Room was fittingly rustic and beautiful, and even had a loft! Cool! Awoke in the morning to a glass smooth lake and sunshine. Kayaks are freely available for use. Use them!! It was wonderful and oh so peaceful. Liz was always available and helpful as was the property manager (sorry, forgot his name). The only issue there was, was a missing screen on one of the windows. See, that's it! This place is awesome!! We will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!
What a gem n the middle of nowhere! The cabin was absolutely gorgeous. Because Liz sends out an email prior to your arrival, you know that the nearest store of any size is over an hour south, so stock up before you get there!! Everything you need is in the cabin (we stayed in #2). The lake views are spectacular, the loons are funny and the firepit is just beautiful.
Everything you need for a kitchen is there - dishes, glasses, silverware, some pots and pans, full size fridge and plenty of cabinet space. The bathroom has radiant floor heating, and there are ceiling fans in the main room and bedroom.
Skip the moose tours - just drive 5 or so miles south, and they're just standing on the side of the road!!
Beautiful and quiet (some road noise, but the cabins all face the water). and bring bug spray - those suckers are vicious!
We were there during "off-season" so restaurant wasn't open--had to drive a bit for food, but had frig and coffee maker in room--we knew this ahead of time. Owners very good about suggesting where to go for food. Actual location not ideal for our purposes--we should have stayed closer to Moosehead Lake, but it was a beautiful spot and the drive to Moosehead lake was very scenic.
