The hinterland with its rolling hills is characterised by hop gardens and orchards and is ideal for hiking. The small roads with little traffic are ideal for long bike rides. The nearby Allgäu, Bregenz Forest and Appenzell also offer countless hiking opportunities. The towns around Lake Constance, such as Bregenz, Lindau, Constance, Meersburg and Friedrichshafen, offer a wide range of cultural activities.
