Disappointed.
No pool open as advertised and no kitchen equpiment or water/facilities in caravan and very cold with no heater. Nice setting but property tired. Bathroom facilities clean.

Thank you, Jacqueline. Will certainly pass on your praise on cleanliness to our dedicated staff. Hot pool is open daily after 6pm, except on sturmy nights. Large swimming pool is seasonal, so will be open again after December. Caravan accommodation is offered to our concerned budget travelers with rates set just the same as camping. Guests are encouraged to bring along their own bedding etc. However we are always happy to lend additional items. Other accommodation includes Cottages with fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms and full set of bedding supplied

We found the lady abit rude, the pools werent ready to be used. A couple were in the spa n were told to get out while it heated up. But apart from that the children's play ground was great.

Apologies if I came across, not meeting your expectations. Some times, due to regular maintenance, especially with our pool complex, guests cooperation is required. We are not always able to carry out these tasks after hours and in most cases our guests understand.

No showers
The room was musty smelling and when we had our showers the water trickled out. I was going to wash my hair but decided to wait. The manager just said they are trying to fix it but didn’t want to compensate us for not being able to have a proper shower. Not a very good start to the day. The place has great potential if they got these things fixed. Cool playground.

I am so sorry, Jasmine that you were caught in the shower while the pressure was low for a very short period. This was fixed as soon as you told us, and I offered you a late check out to finish your session as I can imagine this must have been frustrating. Thank you for commenting on the play ground

Check in was great with the very friendly owner/manager. Originally booked a caravan on location, but the owner/manager encouraged us to stay in a cabin for no additional charge, which was very considerate. She didn’t seem like she wanted us to stay in the caravan and, after seeing and smelling it, we could see why. The showers and toilets are average. They should just state that they don’t have WiFi with how bad the connection and speed is. There are also chickens and cats that freely roam the property.

I am sorry to read about your bad experience. Children usually really like it here. The Cottage you stayed in has electricity and all lights are in good working order. As we are in the country side and it is winter with early onset of darkness, the automated garden lights turn on, however it is not bright to be in tune with the environment. The hot pool is operating daily between 6 pm and 8.30 pm. I did talk to you when you attempted to use the pool before it was ready and advised to come back later.

Sadly the owners/managers weren't very friendly from the very first contact. The park says there are BBQ facilities available but doesn't state it's an extra charge. The hot pools were empty and the attached spa pool to the cabin had other people coming and going and had an additional charge of $30 per hour. The property was clean and warm... It did feel a bit slap and dab with a thrown together cutlery set and different wine glasses and cups. It has all the potential to be a really good little spot and living just down the road could be a great weekend break away. Sadly with the above issues, I'm not sure if that will happen especially with so many other nice little places in the immediate vicinity.

Glad to read positive comments about Cottage Poppy , our cleaners take great pride in their work. Sad to read about the disappointments in relation to add-on services when these were expected free of charge. As the Park rates are kept very low, we offer BBQ delivered to the guests site for $ 10 and private SPA sessions in the Jaccuzy for $ 15 per session of thirty minutes. At the same time there is however a second SPA pool available daily and free of charge.

There was a big spider web at the entrance of the door indicating the property wasn't used for a while and also the property wasn't cleaned before we checked in.

My sincere apologies about the spider web. I can assure you that we clean every room after guests check out. Occupancy has been steady with most nights full up. So your room has definitely been cleaned the day before your arrival. I will be addressing this issue with the cleaners. A huge canopy of trees is towering over our little Cabins, with the recent summer heat, this has provided a welcome relief and cool shade for my guests. Unfortunately insects and spiders are part of nature here.

A little bit of paradise
About 2 km from the small thermal town of Te Aroha, this property offered a low cost option when we had to be in Hamilton by 10am the next day. The cabins are beautiful, the rural setting divine, the night sky breathtaking. There is a pool an hot pools that were well-used, although we went down the road to a thermal resort. The beds are comfy, bedding is good, the kitchen adequate (bring your own food). A good option if you have a car. Prices very reasonable. I usually stay in urban hotels so this was a welcome change of pace. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The town of Te Aroha is exceptionally beautiful and there were plenty of dining options. So if you have a little bit of extra time in your business itinerary, make your way to Te Aroha and replenish the spirit under the mountain.

First impression: scruffy, nothing like the images and unfriendly - leaving impression: scruffy, nothing like the images and unfriendly!!!!! The good things were the zip line and the hot tub, didn't see the climbing wall unless it refers to climbing up a tree to the top of the slide. The image for $170+ for 1 night was an apartment with a separate kitchen and beds for 6, what we got was a small cabin with 1 dbl bed and 1 home made single bed in a bedroom and an extremely old and dirty small pull out couch/bed in the living area without double bedding. Definitely will not be going back

Probably great in the summer - usable in winter
When I check in I was informed that the cabin I was in (apple) has an issue with breakers and that you cannot use "too much power" at once. When I asked for specifics they said you can't run the heater, charge your phone, and take a hot shower at the same time. I managed not to trip any breakers (I left the heater off as long as possible) but you can bet it was weighing on my mind every time I flicked a switch! The cabin is freezing in winter so the heater is sorely needed - glad they had the forethought to put one in there (it's just a plug in electric heater) Bathroom is tiny and all they supply is one small bar of soap, so bring your own toiletries.

Thank you for your feedback. The heater provided is sufficient to keep Cottage Apple warm. A warning is issued about limited power supply to guests on arrival. Unfortunately, Unpleasant Accommodation
OK, I guess you get what you pay for, and we didn't pay that much. On the other hand, after a night in a caravan at this place, we should have been paid a reward for surviving a feat of endurance. The caravan, a retro 1970s model, could have been fab. Unfortunately, it looked as though it had never received an ounce of TLC in all its long life. Veneer was peeling where damp had ingressed; a cupboard door fell off when I attempted to open it; the carpet was grubby; there was dirty crockery in the sink; there were empty bean tins in the cupboard under it and the place as a whole felt unclean; Worst of all, the flies; and at night the biting things. It was unbelievably hot (no fan provided) but opened windows invited all and sundry within. I have never experienced such an uncomfortable night in paid for accommodation. The shared washroom was just about ok, but not regularly cleaned; the communal kitchen was fine. It's a pity the accommodation was so terrible - the holiday park occupies a beautiful spot.

Booked a caravan, arrived to find they had double booked, and I was offered a 'room' instead, and although the charge was more for the room, I would not have to pay extra. The 'room' was called Box, and that was an accurate description. I was not offered any thing else, and I assumed they were fully booked. However, rising early next morning, it was clear that two small cabins were unoccupied, I would have payed a little more for one of these if offered. They also had plenty of time to email me and arrange a replacement.

I could go on in detail on every aspect that was not met based on the amenities listed on your web site but I will leave it there, I am sure if other people stay and could be bothered to spend the time to write a review you would get the picture regards

We Originally booked for a Cottage Tui but they emailed us and said they’re giving us the Cottage eldewiess with no reason. so we call them about the room changes and they said becuase Cottage Tui is bit small for Us. Upon Arrival on the Amenities and room cottages Edelweiss is ok and Cattage Tui is on Next door to us which is Physically Larger than Edelweiss Cottage so meaning the Management is telling a Lie to us which is so dissapointed. Clealiness of the room is Poor. Bed sheet has a lot of stains and bed it self has a lot of Hair. Pool is dirty plenty of dead bugs which is obviously they’re not cleaning it. Hot pool spa is closed.

Apologies for the room change. Floor space between the two Cottages is slightly in favour of Cottage Edelweiss, which also has a separate bedroom for added privacy, we assumed that this would be nicer for you as you travelled with 3 people. Hot pool 's water is being changed daily, therefore during the day you might find it empty as it is being refilled for our guests to use between 6 pm and 8.30 pm. SPA is open most nights, the only reason for it to be closed is the weather as due to heavy wind and rain it is not possible to keep the water warm enough to be comfortable. I am very sorry to read your feedback on bed sheet conditions. We assure you that these are being changed daily, however I had a new cleaner starting last week and might have missed checking his work before you were checking in. I would have happily remedied this problem had you told me at the time, once again, so sorry.

Noisy night in Te Aroha
On arrival we were asked to pay an extra $20 as our 15 year old is not considered a child. Be warned adult rates start at 12 years old here. There was also a complaint from the receptionist about the fees Expedia charge. Like it was our fault we had booked through Expedia. The cabin was adequate and clean, no tea or coffee provided. The night was not restful as the campsite next to ours partied until 2am. We left at 7am feeling unrested. The pool was basic, but refreshing. Some shade and seating could make it more welcoming. The kids enjoyed the flying fox, but I recommend some padding at the end, My daughter bruised her face at the end of the run.
