Beautiful hotel for the price … large supermarket 2 minutes away was handy with refrigerator in room. 3 minutes to riverwalk, with shops, restaurants & beach ferry. TV’s are a little small for the size of the room and digital reception was poor. Stayed 6 nights and would stay again.

The rooms are large and the bathrooms are huge. The decor in the lobby is unique and attractive. We were given a great continental breakfast every morning. There is a luixurious deck with a pool on the roof.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were a good size. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. We particularly enjoyed using the roof terrace which was well-equipped with sun beds and the pool provided welcome relief in the heat. The hotel is situated right next to a good supermarket and a shirt walking distance from the beautiful town.

This is a lovely small hotel, with a great team of staff, every one of them were super friendly and helpful. As a regular traveller I booked this hotel based on the photos and the previous reviews, so don’t be put of by the fact it is shown as a 2 star hotel, I cannot understand how that is the case, it was far nicer than many of the 3 & 4 star hotels I have stayed in. Location is great, a few minutes walk to the town centre. Only negative would be the breakfast. Whilst it was very nice, it was pretty much the same every day, so very repetitive.

Pros: very clean, large shower room, in room fridge, well furnished, quiet aircon, clean crisp white linen, great large barh sheets. lovely roof top area with unheated plunge pool. Quirky reception/breakfast area. Cons: small tv's with few english channels, tv must be on to use wifi, quite firm beds. Breakfast needs improvement was made up of highly processed cheese and ham slices and didnt enjoy the bread rolls - could be much better with fresh seeded toast, non processed meats and cheese, fresh fruit salad, fruit flavoured yoghurt, cereals and warm crisp bread rolls. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but immediate surrounding area wasnt pretty, would recomnend staying in old town across bridge next time.

I spent 4 nights in the Authentic Tavira hotel and will definitely return. The staff were very welcoming, the room spotless and bed very comfortable. The roof top terrace was the ideal place for a quiet read. I don’t swim so the plunge pool was perfect to cool me down.The hotel is convenient to the old town where there is lots to see and restaurants in abundance.

What a great find. After coming to Tavira for over 35 years I was pleasantly surprised to find this hotel. The staff are very good and the breakfast is lovely. The rooftop area is very relaxing with some great views over Tavira. All bars and restaurants are within a short walking distance. I will definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay if plumbing issues are resolve

The hotel was nice. Plumbing issues caused us not to be able to take showers in our room. Staff was very understanding and allowed us to use another room to shower. Dulsa at the front desk was extremely helpful and kind. We will stay at this hotel again just because how helpful Dulsa was.

Nice stay - again. Incredible value, perfect location, nice staff, great service and cleaning. Our fridge didn’t work well, but we forgot to mention, so no complaints from us regarding that. Suggestion: heating the bread at breakfast would be an improvement. Absolutely recommendable hotel with a fantastic rooftop terrace.

Friendly helpful staff on arrival ,girl on desk was super accommodating and gave us early check in.Quirky wonderful foyer with amazing decor.Clean,well appointed room ,comfortable bed,with balcony. Fridge could be colder and perhaps tea / coffee making facilities in the room. Would prefer to have a little more personal selection re breakfast choices rather than same for all.Having said that that though, the food quality and service were excellent. Good central location and modern built in 2019. Can walk from bus terminal in 5-10 mins. Recommend !

Great little hotel (12 rooms on two floors) in a central location 5 mins' walk from the centre of the town and the Roman Bridge. All staff are excellent and very helpful especially the ones who work serving breakfast each day. We were also allowed early check in when we arrived at lunchtime with no bother. The room and bed were very comfortable, good quality bedding and towels, great strong shower. Some road noise can be heard but it quietens during the night. Very handy for local Pingo supermarket 2 mins' walk away -the fridge in the room is silent and very useful for water, juice, fruit, beer etc. We didn't use the rooftop terrace or pool as we were out each day, and it wasn't warm enough to plunge in the pool yet anyway. Nice to have a balcony but not the best view! Would recommend.
