Casa Madre 3 bedroom/2 baths
This home has three bedrooms, two tiled baths (one has tub/shower combination), a large kitchen, living room/dining room, a family room and separate laundry room. It has a big front deck with mountain views and flowering container plants everywhere. The deck is shaded by a big apricot tree, just delightful on a hot afternoon. There is also a back covered portal/patio with table and chairs, BBQ and of course more plants. There is ample parking for two vehicles and surrounding garden spaces. A fun addition is 'The bunkhouse' a perfect spot for the young or young at heart. ($25 per person per night. Just add when booking. The home sleeps 2-6 in beds. There is also a family room sofa sleeper with gel foam mattress and all bedding. ($25 per night per person)The bunk house sleeps two and guests use inside bathrooms. The Bunk house is summer lodging although there is a heater and electric mattress pads for hardy souls. ($25 per person per night) The home is furnished with my antiques, consignment store and yard sale treasures, original art, folk art pieces and my whimsical style throughout. All bedding, towels, kitchen supplies and appliances are new and inviting. If all this is not enough, my home is a short walk through a pleasant historic neighborhood to the downtown Plaza area with shops, galleries and restaurants. As with all of my properties I am dog friendly. Dog sheets provided for sofas and beds and mutt mitts for dog clean up. There is a fenced side yard off the front deck for dogs. I charge $10 per night per dog. This may be left at the house upon departure or added when booking. There is an additional one bedroom casita on the property (separate parking and fenced for privacy) which will sleep two(vrbo 490376.) for an additional rental fee. If you choose to also rent this casita this Compound can sleep 8 guests in beds. and family room sofa sleeper for two in Casa Madre. A truly perfect getaway for 2- 10 guests! I welcome stays at 30 days + with a generous 50% discount and pet fee of $100 per stay. If Casa Madre is booked for your dates please look at Casa Grande Vrbo 860840 which is another one of my homes. Also three bedrooms and two baths and walking distance to the Plaza.

We loved the big house! Lots of room both inside and out. Good location and a comfortable walk to the Taos Plaza. For 4 years we have booked various properties owned by Melissa and will continue to book them when in Taos.
Traveling for the weekend to see two concerts with dogs.Peaceful space with a great outdoor spaces for coffee and a side yard for the dogs. Numerous pieces of charm and art throughout with all of the essentials you will need. Easy checkin and great communication.
We had a wonderful time celebrating with our family for Christmas! The home was well stocked with everything we needed to cook multiple meals at home. Easy walk into town
We loved our stay at Casa Madre, even during the extreme weather this season, the house stayed comfortable. Plenty of room, good parking, fantastic location. This place is a treasure!
This was the most relaxing property. We loved the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed having our coffee under the gorgeous apricot tree listening to the birds singing their good morning songs. It was so close to so many places. We are actually thinking of going back very soon.
Immediately felt like “home.” Great location, within walking distance to the plaza if you don’t mind a stroll. Beautiful outdoor spaces; we spent much of our time on the front deck and back patio.
Great division of space for our group - two couples and a single - and everybody had plenty of room. Kitchen is nice and spacious, and was well stocked for our needs.
Communication from the host was prompt when we had questions.
Great stay.
Very nice home with plenty of space (we were two friends road tripping through New Mexico) and a nice big kitchen. Short drive into town and you could even walk, although there are a few streets with no sidewalks. The house is in a nice quiet residential area.
This rustic, vintage home was captivating from the moment we walked in. So charming, neat and clean. The porch and deck are absolutely beautiful and inviting. We enjoyed our coffee outside in the morning and dinner outside in the evenings. Great location tucked away on a side street. It was so quiet and peaceful, exactly what we needed to rest and recharge. Hope to stay here again sometime.
Casa Madre was in close proximity to the grocery store and the main plaza. We became very familiar with the area and it was easy to come and go. This was a perfect house for our girls time in Taos. We had plenty of room and enjoyed our mornings with the gas fire stoves keeping us warm. Our host was very available and responded quickly to any questions. We loved our stay at Casa Madre.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Cleanliness was sporadic; some surfaces clean and shiny, but the tub in one of the bathrooms was disturbingly mouldy and dirty, we didn't use it. Supplies were haphazard - there were no hand towels anywhere; no small spoons (flatware was mismatched garage sale cast-offs). Beds were VERY firm and uncomfortable, one of them we could not use and put that guest on a futon which was barely better. Some lightbulbs burnt out and the house was dim. Ceiling fans did not work and badly needed dusting. Floors, tables, and kitchen were clean. No dishwasher or disposal, kitchen faucet very old - no sprayer. Mineral buildup on shower was pretty bad and shower curtain was too short so floor got all wet when using. Good location, a bit of a walk to the Plaza we ended up driving and parking. Very charming old adobe style construction, I think a little TLC and attention to supplies and function would make this property really pop!
We had a wonderful stay and particularly loved the location which was a quiet neighborhood with an easy walk to downtown. The house is gorgeous and very spacious. The furniture is beautiful but not particularly sturdy or comfortable. Another thing to note is that the curtains are very thin, so if you or your kids tend to wake at first light that may be an issue. Regardless, would stay again. e.
This house is just as beautiful in person as it is in the photos- perhaps more so. I was so taken with the photos and the warmth and professionalism of the owner that I changed our trip to be based in Taos instead of Sante Fe and I am happy that I did so. This house just blew my mind- the wood floors, the folk art, the close location to town... it was really delightful. Taos was wonderful- we saw the Pueblo, went white water rafting, ate some fantastic food, and spent quality family time on the back deck and front porch. If were to do it again, I would stay longer- it was hard to come home. This house was comfortable, beautiful, so of the region.... it made our time in Taos special.
We really enjoyed Casa Madre. Our family felt very comfortable. There are wonderful details everywhere, very personal and Taos-esque! Great neighborhood.
