Quaint place

Darwin was a very responsive host. The property has a good start to being a nice rental. The kitchen needs a good deep clean (walls, cabinets, exhaust fan) as well as the baseboards around the house. Invested in some nice furniture like the dining room table and master bedroom and then has couches with stains and a very broken sleeper/sofa. Nice location a good distance off the road and well shaded.

My family and I was there for son's graduation from FAMU. It was so convenient to school and shopping. Had pizza delivered after 11pm in less than 20 min. It's December so it was a challenge getting the empty house warmed up. We used the oven and small space heater things became comfortable. Overall good time.BTW

the house is dated and wasn’t super clean(hairs in bathtub, stains on couches, backyard covered in trash) but it was cheap and we only stayed one night.

There were a few concerns. The TV in the front room would not come on with the remote. The curtains in the front room were sheers, so there was no privacy. There were sheers in the queen bedroom as well. There was no iron. There were roaches in the bathroom as well. The deadbolt on the front door would not lock once we were in the house. It was extremely difficult to maneuver. The cord on the light in the bathroom was hanging, very dangerous. The glass stovetop was cracked, so we didn't cook. There was no handle on the refrigerator door, and there was food left inside.

Blocked My Texts

I reserved this VRBO for three weeks and ended up leaving 6 nights early. The owner was very responsive to text messages during check-in and the stay. I asked if he could check on getting me a refund or a partial refund for the six days of my reservation and he said he would check. But instead of checking and answering me, he just blocked my text messages. Not cool.
