  • Welcome to Rocky’s Cabin at the House of Beaver
    Just one block off Main Street, this cozy historic log cabin is within walking distance of Talkeetna’s rivers, restaurants, and shops.
    Built in the 1928, Rocky’s Cabin reflects the spirit of early Talkeetna. It was built by “Rocky,” a well-known and beloved local gold prospector and trapper, and close friend of Jim Beaver of the House of Beaver. The cabin has remained in our family since my mother was a child, preserving its authentic connection to Talkeetna’s early days.
    The cabin sleeps a small group with one queen bed, one twin bed, and one bathroom. The kitchenette includes a Keurig, microwave, small refrigerator, plus coffee and tea. Enjoy the covered front porch—perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks.
    The bathroom features a shower with soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and linens provided.
    Relax and enjoy the charm, history, and convenience of downtown Talkeetna.

Great little cabin in walking distance of everything in Talkeetna. An array of restaurants, shops, and a view of Denali (when clear) down Main Street. Easily sleeps three, maybe four with a blow up mattress.

The cabin was very neat and clean and was decorated nicely to fit the area. The host was very nice and communicated very well with us. It is located within walking distance of the town of Talkeetna. The town is very unique and the people were very friendly. I would recommend this cabin rental.

This cabin was lovingly restored and is more spacious than it looked in the pictures. There is excellent artwork on the walls. It's just a couple streets over from the main tourist areas. We really enjoyed staying here!

The cabin was perfect for our needs, well stocked and super cute! Host was wonderful - great and fast communication and was able to arrange a ride to and from cabin from train depot. Property is located a block or so from town and all the restaurants and stores but also set back enough to not disturb peace and quiet. I would definitely book here again 10/10!

LOVED THIS CABIN! This was a such a great find, and when we booked, had no idea it was such a quick walk to everything downtown. It was very cozy, but plenty of space for me and my husband. Super clean and nicely decorated. Check in was fast and easy, and there was convenient off street parking. We felt like we were in a piece of history. I would absolutely stay here again! (Maybe only minor complaint is the standup shower is very small, but it didn't detract from our experience.)

Great cabin in Talkeetna! Excellent layout and location to all of Talkeetna! We arrived on a hot day so an additional fan (for both beds) would have made our stay a bit more comfortable, otherwise. we loved it! We appreciated the Keurig machine and coffee too. Make sure to walk over and grab a cinnamon bun at Homestead for breakfast. They were amazing!!

Such a cute little place! We were within walking distance of "downtown" Talkeetna. The little house had lots of windows and needed some black-out curtains for us out-of-towners, and maybe one more bath towel since there were 3 of us, but we loved the cabin and reading the history, etc. Very convenient for a multiple day stay in Talkeetna!
