"We loved our stay in a spacious room with gorgeous views. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious (especially the chia pudding which was new to me). The facilities like the pool and spa are lovely. Highly recommend!"

"A really nice backpackers hostel. The rooms were well put together and warm during the winter. Lots of space in the kitchen and lounge and bathrooms are being renovated. Staff were really helpful and hospitable - I'd stay here again, for sure. One of the most comfortable places I have stayed on my trip through NZ."

"Four of us (adults) stayed for a long weekend. The weather was rubbish so stayed a large part of that indoors playing games. The lounge was warm and spacious so it suited us just fine. The place sleeps nine which meant one of the bedrooms, i felt, was a bit cluttered with beds and hard to get around. Overall very happy and would stay again"

"We had a nice time in Takaka and exploring the area. Comfy beds and a good size place for a family holiday. The house and surrounding gardens needed a bit of TLC. It wasn't as clean as we would have hoped. Just needs a bit of a spruce - cobwebs definitely need to be swept away! Probably wouldn't choose to stay here again unfortunately."

"I actually tried to up-grade from "the Nest" - glamping to a cabin, but the staff said I should check it out as I might like it - I loved it. It was so inviting, romantic, pretty fairy lights inside and out. Excellent bed. Everything needed for a campfire provided. So cozy. Amazing view of the Pacific and incredible night sky."
