• Before locking in your flight, check if any travel restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Stay informed with the latest updates by checking government websites.
• When you go through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it for identification purposes. Travellers who refuse to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the terminal.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it straight on the scanner yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Empty your personal items from your pocket, such as your phone and wallet, and place them in your carry-on rather than into bins. This will reduce handling during screening.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to open your bag for inspection.
