This was not the standard of property we were expecting for the star rating and the price. Room equipment and fixtures dated, tired and worn. The dryer dd not work, and whatever 'fix' maintenance undertook meant we had to fight with the machine to get it working. Bathroom (especially) and kitchen both in need of a good scrub, and the lounge had a bit of a greasy feel. We will not be back!

Property is in a very handy position to walk to numerous places of interest as well as to the light rail, World Square, food outlets. Staff were always polite and friendly. We would have preferred more cleaning days. Could not work out how to use dryer in room or bedside clock, which flashed the entire 12 days. Did not have time to wait for someone to show us how to use things. Staff brought towels, toilet paper when we requested. Did not use dishwasher because it had an unpleasant odour. Fridge was iced up but useable for small amount that we needed it for

Very nice rooms and welcoming staff. Ok location with an outdoor cafe next door that was convenient for breakfast. They didn’t have wash cloths for bathing. Maybe that’s an Aussi thing. Overall a good stay.

Nothing was wrong with the apartment. It was lovely with huge views. But the elevators were a problem because you could wait for ages for one to come. Sometimes people were lined up in a queue right back to the lobby waiting to get into an elevator. For this reason alone I probably wouldn't stay there again. It is the weakest link which breaks a chain - and the weakest link was the lift!

Nice place, close to everything in the city, few minor issues; bed slid around on the tiles, brakes didn’t seem to work, shower handle was broken so couldn’t move it up high, kitchen sink drain smelt- ran hot water through it which seemed to help get rid of smell. Overall nice stay- if staying again and found these issues would address them. Only stayed two nights and we were out most of it so not huge issue.

Everything was very good. The one issue we had was with the clothes dryer. I had to run it for three (3) hours to get some clothes "mostly" dry! Also, the elevators were terribly slow! Finally, the porters seemed to be non-existent. :-(( We had to take our luggage up AND down ourselves. :-(( On the positive side, the staff were very nice and very helpful, especially Amrit?, Jessica, and Cee.

A very disappointing visit, the room we were given had a rug full of stains, the shower drain blocked and pungent smell, curtains that were black and has decorators paint in them. Rust on the clothes hanging rails, so bad it stained my clothing. Complained to the welcome desk had additional cleans carried out but it was at a very poor standard.

The Meriton was a most pleasant stay for the 3 nights we stayed. The room was large, comfortable, and with every thing we would have required. The location was excellent for us and close to everything we wanted to do. Though we do walk everywhere and maybe there are people who would not enjoy this aspect. There were many differing dining options close by. The staff we encountered were most pleasant and welcoming. Did not use the pool or gym so cannot comment on those. The lift sometimes was a little slow. In all, a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again.

I hate writing bad reviews but I want others to be aware of the negative aspects of this hotel. First of all the staff were very nice and helpful. The elevator’s at this hotel are a nightmare and I believe it has over 50 floors there were times we had to wait over 30 minutes to get to our room. Second we found a huge cockroach in our bathroom!!! First room they gave us the fridge did not work. Great location in Sydney but I will definitely never stay there again!!!!!!!

Overall we liked the room and location. What was disappointing was the cleanliness and how it was maintained. The corners behind doors and grout needed cleaning. The shower had mold in corners and under the rubber door stop along bottom of glass door and in some of the grout. We reported it to the actual cleaning people and they said they would check it out but nothing changed in the couple days after reporting. Also they had no wash cloths. We asked but they said they didn’t have those anymore. We had to wash our face and shower with a hand towel. It would also be nice to have directions on how to work the washer/dryer and the dishwasher. Washer didn’t dry our clothes only half way. Had to have maintenance come up but he wasn’t real sure either. We did get them dryer the second time but not completely. The dishwasher, the soap dispenser did not open twice trying to wash. Again, the maintenance couldn’t help. I will say the balcony was great. The bed was very comfortable. The heat and air conditioning worked really well also.

Suites are clean and spacious. Location is great, just next to the World Square and you are surrounded by shops and restaurants and train stations. However, check in experience was abysmal. I arrived on time at the advertised 3PM check-in time. The front desk told me the room is not ready AFTER my card was charged. Although this was resolved 45 minutes later, I have seen other guests unable to check-in even after 5PM on that day. Out of the hundreds of hotels and apartments I have stayed in my life, this is the only one that does not respect time punctuality. The front desk line is always long. The elevators are very inefficient and slow. Expect 5 minutes wait if you want to get down from your floor. At checkout time, the concierge line was horribly long as well, so I just threw in the key cards at the express checkout box and left. The quality of service here is not consistent with other Meriton properties I have stayed at, hence the lower rating scores by other guests.

The check in took far too long, the staff had no customer service skills, and the room supposedly wasn’t ready at 4pm (despite a 3pm check in time). When told that wasn’t acceptable, they had a room ready. The room was spacious but the poor quality of fixings meant it didn’t feel particularly clean.

Very rare to find a 3 bedroom apartment in the CBD. The Meriton on Kent Street had everything we could have possibly wished for. Large apartment, very comfortable beds, fully equipped with washing machine and dryer, great location with walking distance to transport and shopping, excellent staff and very reasonably priced. Thank you.

Centrally located studio with outside sitting area. Had a stovetop, fridge. microwave, toaster, teapot and kcup coffee maker. the AC is amazing and you can keep it as cool or as warm as you like.The W/D works very well. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. I would definitely recommend.

Stayed in the property for three nights during New Year’s time. Quite spacious and kitchenette was well supplied with necessary stuff. Main issue was the AC, which was playing up the whole time we were there - this was a big deal as Aussie temperature is quite warm at this point. The washing machine worked well but the drier took ages to dry the clothes, needed some manipulation for it to work properly. Pillows were terrible. Nevertheless, the location is perfect for restaurants (few steps away from china town), shopping, and public transportation. However, not the quality I expected from an extremely expensive booking.

We arrived to check in around 18.30. Checked in ok only to be told our room was under inspection! Finally get to the room, AC unit has no front grill, curtains are hanging off the rail, net curtain was filthy and the plug socket was hanging off the wall. A maintenance man proceeds to enter our room, shocked to find someone in there. Makes some excuse about checking the bathroom then leaves. We asked to be moved and were told there would be rooms the next day, and will be on 43rd floor. Back to reception in the morning, sorry no rooms come tomorrow. Back to reception next morning with all our luggage , yes there is a room on 43rd floor, not ready yet but come back later. Get back at 15.30. sorry 43rd floor is gone so ended up on 24th. Room was ok, smaller, towel rail hanging off but by this time we can't be bothered! To be fair to the staff they did try but overall for the money we paid bitterly disappointed, it felt as if we were dumped in the only room available that no one else wanted. We booked this months in advance and a room should have been allocated not something makeshift. Needless to say we will not stay at a Meriton again.

We spent our wedding night here. Cee at guest services set up a special request for me and my husband for our arrival. The room was amazing, the guest services team were always happy to help and OMG the view for the fireworks was stunning. Cant rate this hotel high enough!!!

Not in a millions years is this five star accommodation. Stayed here over new year at sizeable cost because of the good reviews. You’re made to checkout at 10am, but cannot check in until 3pm. When you do finally get into your room it is not restocked, not clean and the corridors remain dirty for the duration of the stay. If you need extra towels, amenities etc… you are to call through, you won’t receive them for a few hours, this includes toilet roll which is obviously not great. Shower leaks, waste is left in drawers around the apartment and the dishwasher stinks. Overall, incredibly poor from the moment we queued for thirty minutes to check in to the moment we left and waited thirty minutes for one of the lifts to stop at our floor.

The location was brilliant. Easy walking to the light rail and Darling Harbour and the QVB, and city shopping. The hotel was a little dated but clean and comfortable with a king bed which was super comfortable and perfect pillows. If you are elderly or a little incapacitated make sure to ask for a room with a walk in shower as some rooms have a shower over the bath. Also this hotel allows smoking so if like us you don't smoke ask for a non smoking room when you book. But all in all, apart from the weather we had a wonderful stay in my favourite city.

The apartments were spacious, clean and well equipped. Location was ideal: plenty of dining options close by and the light-rail was about a 2 minute walk away. Will definitely stay again.
