Fantastic stay!

Wonderful experience - incredibly enthusiastic, talented and knowledge owners - unbelievable food at evening meal. Only served every other night so make sure you book at least one night for evening meal. Accommodation lovely and very private. Even get an early morning car wash in with the room rate!!

Man wohnt in eigenen kleinen Häuschen in einem dicht bewachsenen Garten. Der Besitzer ist sehr hilfsbereit, Frühstück besonders lecker und liebevoll zubereitet. Falls Dinner angeboten wird, unbedingt teilnehmen.

Wer einmal in einem echten, kapholländischen Haus übernachten will, ist hier richtig. Sehr urig. Sehr gute Küche, alles selbst gemacht.

Wonderful stay with exceptional service. lovely.

What a delightful place to stay. From a very warm welcome to complimentary beer and sherry plus home baked cup cakes we were treated exceptionally well. Breakfast was super and the recommendation for dinner reservation proved perfect. Although we are well travelled a couple of firsts for us - an open fire in the lounge area of our cottage and before we departed our car was washed!

Alles! Kreativ, gemütlich, geschmackvoll,tolles Bett, sehr gutes großes Bad, hervorragendes Frühstück mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Renate und ihr Team sind einfach super! 7 Gängiges Dinner war unübertroffen lecker und speziell. Der hübsche kleine Pool und der verwunschene Parkgarten machen alles Perfekt. Der Aufenhalt dort war ein Erlebnis und wir können Augusta de Mist zu 100% weiterempfehlen.

Booked up last minute whilst travelling The Garden Route. The accomodation was excellent and great value. The surrounding área is beautiful and our host was able to book us in to a lovely restaurant. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing romantic guest house. Big rooms in old style, but all modern need. Lovely staff and great service! Book the diner evening (every alternating evening) because the food is superb. For sure we will go back.

Hier stimmt einfach alles!!! Ein wunderschönes, geschmackvolles Häuschen inklusive Cupcakes zur Begrüßung und einer großartigen, weitläufigen Gartenanlage. Außerdem ist Gastgeberin Renate die gute Fee und erfüllt einem jeden Wunsch. Und dann ist da noch das spektakuläre Frühstück. Früchte, selbstgebackebes Brot und Teilchen, selbstgemachte Marmeladen und das beste Omlette überhaupt! Einfach 1000% ig zu empfehlen.

Staying at the Augusta de Mist Hotel.

The hotel is very centrally situated. The homestead and surroundings is built in the Cape Dutch style surrounded by a lovely garden.Renate the hostess was very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The staff I dealt with was friendly and their service very good. I enjoyed a quiet and restful 2 night's sleep,as well as a scrumptious breakfast and would certainly recommend the Augusta de Mist Hotel to other visitors.

Wonderful resort in Swellendam

The Augusta de Mist was fantastic. The suites are large with lovely bed and sitting areas. The bathrooms are large with delightful tubs and bubble bath! The gardens are tropical with winding paths. Breakfast in the main house was delicious and our hostess energetic, informative and chatty! Would definitely recommend and sorry we didn't spend another night to spend time in the area. There are interesting little shops and historic houses within walking distance. Had dinner at The Field and Fork which was very good.

Superlative Boutique Hotel

The owners have created an unique piece of heaven set in a garden of eden complete with culinary delights normally reserved for Michelin Star restaurants. The host, Renata, along with all the staff were fantastic - Renata brings a warmth and sense of humor that really compliments the whole experience. Without question, this is a remarkable and unforgetable place to stay when visiting Swellendam. Whether for a night or few a few weeks, you will not be dissapointed.

Superbly run hotel

This is an excellently run establishment. Every possible convenience has been thought of for the guests. We were lucky enough to be staying on a night when they were doing the tester menu - absolutely delicious, as was the breakfast the next morning - from the fresh fruit, fruit juice, cooked to order hot selection and the freshly baked bread and muffins. It was heaven.

A home away from home. The owner and staff make you feel special, like you are the only guest that matters. The food was exquisite. The seven course tasting menu is a must try.Their chef cooks with passion and successfully put a divine, fresh and modern twist to traditional south African food. The cottage where we stayed was spacious, quaint and luxiourious. Could not have asked for more.

Die komplette Anlage mit allen Räumen und Garten sind mit einer unfassbaren Detailverliebtheit gestaltet. Es gibt überall etwas zu entdecken. Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht da, was definitiv zu wenig ist. Alleine für diese Unterkunft würde es sich lohnen wieder zu kommen. Ganz tolles Frühstück mit frisch gebackenem Brot, Obst usw. Gastgeber sind unwahrscheinlich freundlich und Hilfsbereit. Wir reisen seit vielen Jahren um die Welt und diese Unterkunft war in Preis/Leistung ganz oben!!

Underbara stugor i fantastisk trädgård

I en frodig trädgård med vindlande gångar ligger superfina små stugor spridda så att varje är helt avskild. Stugan/rummet jag och min partner bodde i (nr 1) var mycket stilfullt inredd med personlig känsla. Det var gott om plats med en vardagsrumsdel, sovdel samt badrum med dubbla handfat, dusch och fint badkar. Här finns också det lilla extra; badrockar, fina flaskor badskum, brasa i vardagsrummet, vin och sherry som ingick... Känns lyxigt! Vi åt en 5-rätters middag på hotellet på kvällen och det var bland det bästa vi åt under 2 veckor i Sydafrika. Välkomponerat med inslag av traditionella sydafrikanska smaker som alltför sällan ses på restauranger. Vi stannade tyvärr bara en natt, men jag hoppas verkligen få en chans att återkomma och bo fler nätter på detta supercharmiga guesthouse!

A different kind of guest house

Liked the style and decor of the cottages, although the one we were in was rather dark inside. The hosts and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Was a little disappointed by the food. Felt the breakfasts were not as good as other breakfasts in SA. Would have liked more fruit, choice of yoghurt, croissants, better presented cooked breakfast. Didn't really want cakes and large bread rolls. I found the evening meal a little heavy with the pastries and the pasta but that was my taste. I think the menu should have been more balanced. However, I loved all the spicy tastes.
