Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sušice?
The best area to stay in Sušice is the town centre, particularly around Náměstí Svobody (Freedom Square).

This area is the heart of Sušice and offers the most convenience and character. The square itself is surrounded by historic buildings and is where you'll find local shops, traditional pubs, and eateries. It's very walkable, with most of the town's amenities within a short stroll. The Otava River, a significant local landmark, is also easily accessible from the town centre.

Couples will find the town centre ideal for a relaxing and pleasant stay. They can enjoy leisurely walks along the river, explore the small boutiques, and dine at local restaurants, all without needing to travel far. The historic setting provides a lovely backdrop for a quiet getaway.

For travellers interested in local culture and convenience, staying near the town centre means easy access to the local museum and the Church of Saint Wenceslas.
When is the best time to go to Sušice?
The best time to go to Sušice is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

During spring, the weather is pleasantly mild, and the countryside around Sušice is particularly beautiful as everything comes into bloom. This is an excellent time for outdoor activities like hiking or cycling along the Otava River. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Autumn also offers agreeable weather with comfortable temperatures and the added beauty of changing leaf colours. This period is ideal for exploring the natural surroundings and the historical town centre without the summer heat.
