About this property

The Ladder House on the Sound w Beach/Hot Tub

  • The Ladder House on the Sound is a vertical waterfront home shaped by its Puget Sound setting. Built across multiple levels and connected by a ship-style ladder, the home invites movement and discovery, with each level revealing cozy nooks, peaceful sleeping spaces, and shifting views of water and light. True to the SaltWood Passage tradition, the experience blends design, comfort and care offering a one-of-a-kind stay where exploration is part of the charm and the Salish Sea is the reward.

Welcome to The Ladder House, a 1940s waterfront home designed vertically, with four bedrooms arranged across five levels. Ship-style ladders connect much of the home, creating a layout that feels closer to a boat or lookout than a traditional house. Many families and adventurous guests love this design; guests seeking a standard layout may not.

The primary bedroom features a king bed and sweeping views of the Sound. Additional bedrooms are tucked into upper levels, offering privacy and a sense of retreat. A lower-level sleeping area with twin beds works well for kids or flexible group arrangements. Multiple bathrooms - including a spa-like primary bath - ensure comfort for groups.

Outside, the deck sits directly above the water and serves as the heart of the home, with space to cook, gather, and linger into the evening.

    📺 Living areas

Comfortable seating, soft lighting, and expansive views define the shared spaces. The living areas are designed for unwinding after a day outdoors, with space to read, watch the water, or simply listen to the weather move through the trees.

    ⛱️ Outdoor space

The deck overlooks the Puget Sound and is equipped for long, unhurried days outside—dining, lounging, grilling, and gathering around the fire pit. A rocky shoreline sits directly below the house and is best suited for experienced kayakers, paddleboarders, and cold plunges. Nearby walking beaches are easily accessible by car."Welcome to Porpoise Paradise, an enchanting escape in the Pacific Northwest. Perched above the stunning Puget Sound, this 1940s beach house is now open to guests, featuring a brand new hot tub. Perfect for families and couples seeking lasting memories.

The unique 4-bedroom layout offers a charming nautical feel, featuring 'boat stairs' to access three of the bedrooms across 5 different levels of the house. Porpoises grace the bay, while eagles, seals, otters, and salmon add to the vibrant wildlife experience.

The Master Bedroom is a sanctuary with a King bed and panoramic Puget Sound views. Luxury bathrooms and a basement with super comfy twin beds await. Ideal for nature lovers or those seeking a romantic retreat.

    Privacy & neighbors

The Ladder House is the final home on a quiet road and feels very private. There are neighboring homes nearby, and we ask guests to be respectful - no drones, loud music at night, or disruptive noise.
