About this property
The Round House on Potato Creek at 1256 Quackenbush Road
This adorable cedar cabin is built with the focus on the water. Three bedrooms across the rear of the house leave the balance of the house as a great room that faces the water with three sliding glass doors. A small kitchen adjacent to the screened porch and dining area makes light work of meal prep. The included gas grill lets the cooking be done out doors. The sandy swimming area, boat dock and ramp are just out the front door and down the steps and across the spacious front yard. Sit and relax on the screened porch, sunbathe on the front deck or next to the water, or have cocktails in the shade next to the water while the kids play. Lovely neighbors and good water depth make this fishing, skiing and swimming, boating and jet skiing perfection. And we have recently added a fish cleaning table with a water hose hookup to make prepping the catch that much easier! Private boat dock and ramp make loading and unloading your boat a snap.

Me and my fishing buddy stayed at the Round House for a week. Nice place with private boat ramp and dock. Hopefully we’ll have the opportunity to go back.
Everything was as stated in the description. It was a very relaxing stay and peaceful. We loved the screen porch in the evening especially. Always had a breeze and no bugs . Would definitely stay again!
Beautiful place to stay, excellent hostess, very clean, stocked with all necessities. We will definitely stay here again if available. Highly recommend.
We had a great time. House was clean, welcoming, and well stocked with household supplies. Quiet area and very nice neighbors. Beds were very comfortable. Boat ramp and dock right in the yard was very convenient.
Had a great stay. The house is well appointed, clean, and comfortable. With a dock on site, your boat has easy access to Lake Marion. Managed to catch a15lb blue cat right from the dock as well.
Cute house. Very clean. Very well stocked with cooking utensils. Beds were comfortable.Right on the lake. Nice boat ramp and dock. Caught a big catfish from the dock. Nice neighbors.
Perfect for bass tournament anglers - will be back
Stayed at the Roundhouse for over a week to attend a major bass tournament. Myself and two other pro anglers each brought boats with trailers. Never had to unhook. Great parking, close to John C ramp. The property has its own boat ramp which is just a bit tricky to get lined up - but fully functional if you want to fish Potato Creek during high wind times. Everything here was perfect. The home is comfortable and had everything we could ask for and more. Very safe neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Communication was superb! We will be back!
Everything about our stay here was absolutely wonderful!!!! From booking VRBO and Faye was awesome in communicating and the House!!!! We didn’t want to leave!!! The boat launch, dock, just everything was unbelievable!!!! We will definitely book again!!! I took way too many things as so many things were already there. Thanks for everything, Faye!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This house was perfect for what we wanted from our vacation. The small boat ramp was easy and convenient to get the John boat in and out of. It was easy to get around the lake and we never worried about leaving the boat on the bank. The host was quick about responding to messages. I think the only issue we had was not having an extension cord long enough to reach the fish cleaning table by the garage in order to use filet knife. The outlet on the garage did not work. Also the pier lights were not very bright but that never caused us an issue. Overall it was the perfect house for us and we would definitely go back.
This little place was cute as can be. Its three bedrooms were plenty big enough for the three of us..but it does have room for more. The kitchen was stocked well enough with the “start ups” for basic cooking (spices, paper plates, coffee filters, Pam, paper towels and toilet paper) which was extremely nice. We rolled in late in the evening without time for groceries but thankfully the house was stocked with coffee for the morning!!
The house is nicely furnished with updates that make the “family place” lean towards modern times without breaking the bank. It really is a round house so the room configurations are “oddly shaped” but honestly you have plenty of room and hardly notice. The owner made very good use of the space without feeling cluttered or clumsy.
Response time and communication was also great. The house really is super nice, clean and the decor is neatly done. We will definitely be back.
My family of 4 and our 2 labs stayed the week in the little round house. The house was perfect with three bedrooms and one bathroom. The kitchen had everything you needed and more, from spices to pots and pans. The house was clean and cozy. The beds had all bedding on them and were comfy too. We watched TV as a family in the living room area when we were inside. The deck was perfect as the sun went down for reading and the table on the screened in porch was perfect for a game of Uno with friends. My daughter and I, spent most days with the dogs in the water at the private boat landing (would recommend some type of water shoes for the rocks and grass and such). My hubby and son were able to beach both of their boats on the sand at night and had an extension cord to charge them too. We did catch a few tiny fish off the dock but not anything to keep.We kayaked down the creeks and since it’s a no wake zone, it was perfect (my daughter is 22 with Autism and low vision and she did great). There is really nothing I would have changed about this week except maybe catch a few more fish. Oh, and the gas grill was really nice for burgers, hotdogs and steak. There are close neighbors but really didn’t see them much except the sweet dog across the creek. One of my dogs wanted to play with her badly but we’re new there and didn’t want to ruffle any feathers. I’d give this place a 10 out of 10.
This house is so quaint. It has been stocked with everything that you need for a comfortable stay. We cooked in every meal except one and the kitchen had been thoughtfully equipped to make food preparation a breeze. We loved the dock and used it daily to go out on the pontoon. We also enjoyed just playing in the lake right there at the house. I would definitely recommend this house for your lake vacation.
The property has everything we needed for our stay, and the location on the lake is fantastic. Cozy cottage for anyone who likes the rustic look. Liked it so much, I am coming back in a few weeks for another stay.
