"Outstanding service and care from the staff- they seem to have a ‘family’ vibe going on Speciall thanks to manager Jane for local info & taking care of us. Rooms we saw were spacious and clean We had a room at the back which was light and quiet- we neede a couple of recovery afternoon kips which were uninterrupted. Dinner was tasty & of really good quality and variety; breakfasts hearty with healthier/ continental options. 5 stars. Even locals confirmed best hotel in Shetland "

"It is an old property and has been maintained somewhat unfortunately both the Bar and the Restaurant were closed we also had a hard time checking in as there was no one on the property just a note with phone numbers to call. I did eventually get a hold of someone and they appeared about ten minutes later. The little beach besides the hotel is quite popular with the locals who play with there kids, walk there dogs and go swimming there, note also that it is only accessible when the tide is out as the stairs leading to it are underwater when the tide is in. Note also there is no parking at the hotel and only six public spaces for Parking close by."

"Niki and Piet have created a beautiful haven in their Mogill apartment. Nothing was too much trouble for them and with the added bonus of the sauna and hot tub, this turned into one of the best holidays we have experienced. We were able to relax and sit and watch the animals (including Tom and Jerry the goats) and birds and look out over the cliffs and sea.We were a little concerned when we booked that we were too far down South, but we needn't have worried. With great roads and connections the Voortrekker apartments are a lovely base to discover Shetland. Mogill apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything you need as well as being spotless. The robes, provided for the hot tub and sauna are a lovely touch. This was more than a holiday, this took us down a notch or two in the pace of our life at a time when we really needed it.Thankyou Niki and Piet x"
