10/10 Excellent

"Room and hotel itself was very clean and modern and you could tell it had been updated. To our surprise there was not just a small fridge and a microwave in our room but it had a kitchenette with one burner, sink, plates and pots & pans. Even the dish soap and dish towel was provided. My daughter said the sofa bed was actually comfortable to sleep on!! There were full size shampoo, conditioner and lotion available, which smelled very nice. We all know that's usually not the case with hotel amenities... We've traveled all over the world and have stayed in many different hotels so it was a little strange to have to sign a waiver for not smoking (we don't smoke) and for not setting off the fire alarm!! And the lady at check-in was a little condescending about it. She talked to us as if we were teenagers that were in the habit of setting off fire alarms. Odd, not a good first impression and definitely a first for us! We didn't try the breakfast so can't say much about that, but my husband was happy to find some coffee available at check-in."

"Fabulous house for a family reunion. Super clean and spacious. Bedrooms are on 2nd & 3rd floors, which would be difficult for elderly that have challenge with steps. Kitchen work space small but really well stocked. We had one family in charge of cooking each night, which worked well. Huge porch with a lovely view of yard and peek of the lake. Awesome and plenty of seating to eat dinner every night out on the porch with 18 of us. Large family room provided our small children space to play and simultaneously space for adults to visit. Several fans provided, but we brought extra small window fans which were also used. Just a 10-15 minute walk to Eagles Mere beach which is fantastic. So much fun using the kayaks, paddel boards, and peddle boats."

"Surprisingly good hotel, we would stay there again. But here are a few suggestions to improve: The emails they send in the days preceding the reservation are misleading. They suggest eating at their own 220House Restaurant, but it is permanently closed, so that was not an option. Also, on arriving, there was nobody at the desk There were two phone numbers taped to the door. One dialed to a NY #, the second dialed to a Florida #. Both were were non-operational phone numbers. The phone # in the email was also invalid. We almost panicked, thinking that we arrived at a ghost hotel that was shut down. There was QR code taped over the button on the intercom and we didn't see the button at first, but then hit that and someone answered. All's well that ends well, but management might want to rethink how present contact options for arrivals. The other problems: 1 roll of toilet paper, and I'm sure we could have just called and asked for more, but the path of least resistance was just walking to Family Dollar next door and buying a roll. Also, hallway lights would have been nice. Our room was more of a suite with a hallway to the bathroom and entry, and it it was impossible to see anything. The microwave, fridge and coffee maker were in this dark hallway. The room was 89 degrees when we arrived, but it was a heatwave, so I won't hold this against the hotel. But it did take about 3 hours to lower the temps to sleeping tolerance."

Ricketts Glen Fern View Cabin

"Very clean cabin on a beautiful wooded property. The location in relation to Ricketts Glen State Park was excellent! It was extremely nice to have the flushable toilet and nice shower after visiting Lake Jean. Communication with the host was timely and helpful. All cabin supplies were listed along with items that guests should bring. I was nervous for a minute that we would not have comforters for our beds but found them quickly under the beds. The cabin is small but efficient, so it doesn’t have ton of extra supplies due to space. If you think you might need or want something, bring it along. We would definitely stay here again!! Fabulous experience and we got to bring our Golden Retriever!! Thank you!"
