    Welcome to a wonderful holiday home at Bjerge Sydstrand on Jammerland Bay. Your holiday home offers you and your family all the space and comfort you need for a successful holiday in Denmark. Start your day with breakfast on the spacious terrace, which is furnished with cosy seating. The terrace stretches around the house and offers both sunny and shady spots. Enjoy the fresh air and the wide view of the well-tended garden.



    Take a walk to the nearest beach and enjoy the sea breeze and go for a bike ride along the coast and discover the picturesque landscape of Jammerland Bay. Visit the nearby town of Kalundborg, which impresses with its historic old town and the imposing Kalundborg Cathedral. Another highlight is the Reersø nature reserve, which is ideal for hiking and birdwatching.

My family and I recently rented this summer cottage (sommerhus). As an expat Dane living abroad I have been to many summer cottages in Denmark and this particular one is very basic. It was fine for what we needed but future renters should know just a few things about it. There is no washer or dryer. This is pointed out on the online description of the place, but could easily be missed. The nearest laundromat is in Slagelse (Løvegade Møntvaskeri, bring coins).The description of the place includes “ocean view/waterfront”...there is absolutely no ocean view and it’s a 10 minute stroll to the beach. No problem for us.The rental does not come with linen or towels (that’s extra and needs to be booked in advance). That may not be a problem if you’re driving to the property from your home, but coming from abroad we did not consider packing linen/towels. Had to pick them up separately in Stilling Strand.There is no freezer. No big deal but should maybe be stated online.As a suggestion to the Owner, perhaps invest in a microwave and/or an airfryer. These are cheap items that would be helpful.Overall, the place is fine but again, very basic but for a good price.
