This house was perfect for us! It was so cute, so New England, so Stonington! We loved the shops and the nearby restaurant, The Dog Cafe. The backyard was perfect for our graduation gathering and everyone loved the cupola. Mark was a very responsive host. I'd recommend this place to everyone.
Great, roomy house for us/5 adults. It's comfortable and has everything you need for cooking and entertaining. We loved being right in town for the Lobster trap tree lighting! Proximity to Mystic is great too!
My family enjoyed this gorgeous home in Stonington, Connecticut. It was our first visit to the picturesque Stonington. The house was clean, family friendly and comfortable. The weather and the home were absolutely perfect!
We enjoyed an unforgettable week at this spacious, warm, inviting, well-provisioned, beautiful home. Everything about it was perfect for us. We had a lovely space to enjoy being together as a family, but also enough space to spread out. The proximity to the beach and town is just about perfect. Can’t recommend highly enough – just fantastic. Very grateful for our time there.
We had the privilege of vacationing in this lovely home last August for a week with our teenagers and one of their friends. It is an amazing old home with all the modern amenities needed to host large or multiple families comfortably and spaciously. There are multiple bathrooms on each level for privacy, and the kids had their own TV room and access to a kitchen on the ground level. We parked one car in the garage, and the second on the street with no issues. There is a private and sunny patio where I enjoyed my coffee every morning. The location cannot be beat -- within walking distance of multiple restaurants, cafes, and the beach. Stonington Borough is a peaceful neighborhood with friendly residents and shop-owners, and quiet streets by 10:00 at night, which is exactly what we wanted. We rode our bikes all over and made day trips into nearby Mystic. The owner, Mark, was very accommodating and communication was a breeze. The house was listed for sale while we were there and the kids begged us to buy it! We fell in love with Stonington Borough and hope to return, and would definitely recommend this house for anyone who needs the space and appreciates the charm of big old beautiful homes. Thank you for having us!
The house is in a great historical setting with picturesque harbor views. Great sitting area both inside and outside . Sunset/sunrise views on the fourth floor. Kitchen and bathrooms recently updated but restoration to some original structures are in progress . Great house for socializing with friends . Very walkable town and a short walk to Dubois Beach. Recommend sitting at Breakwater for dinner or drinks on outside deck overlooking harbor. One thing I noticed the house could use is a full length mirror in the bedrooms.Owner Mark is very nice and very responsive.
What a cool location! I am a local and needed an extra home for my family to stay at when they came to visit. This place worked great. It has large open rooms and a huge patio that was able to support all of us. Don’t forget to climb up to the top floor and get the view of the entire village. The place has an interesting kitchen set up with multiple small locations that worked well with different groups of adults. If there was one other thing to mention, some of the guest felt that the mattresses were a bit uncomfortable and could get a topper or a replacement. But overall, this was the right choice and we would chose the same place if we had the opportunity to re-pick locations. Thank you Mark!
We stayed at Marks place in Stonington for 3 nights with 3 generations of family. The house is in a great location and had everything we needed and more. Very clean and updated with the charms of being a historic house. I think the only thing I would make people aware of is that it was difficult for our 85+ year old parents to manage all the stairs. That was clear in the listing so we knew that getting in but being winter that seemed more significant than if it was summer and you could hang outside more. Lots of space to spread out throughout the house.
We stayed here for 3 nights on a short getaway for my daughter’s 8th birthday. She LOVED the house, especially her room which had a vanity in it. My kids loved going up to the top floor to watch the sunset over the water. My parents came with us and we all had a great stay. Enjoyed the historic feel of the house and town. Walked down to Noah’s for a fabulous brunch. So nice that the house is walking distance to shops and restaurants. Also super close to Mystic where we visited the aquarium. Mark was quick to reply to any questions we had. Over all it was a terrific time!
The house was clean and ready for our stay. It reminded Us of some B& B’s we stayed in as the house has charm in a historical district. However, kitchen and two bathrooms where adequately updated. The several sinks and dishwashers ( yes two dishwashers) were useful as we were here for thanksgiving and did a lot of meal prep and cleanup for ten people. Mark ,the owner, responded to some minor problems quickly and even came over to fix a hot water issue as soon as I notified him. Job well done. Would highly recommend the property . The home, the small quaint town down the street, the districts history , it’s proximity to two casinos and Mystic/Groton CT all make this property a fun place to visit…. Don. C
Beautiful large house in middle of Stonington. Easy walking access to beach, parks, restaurants, cafes and shops. Nice quiet town and a short drive to downtown Mystic. Would definitely recommend this place.
My husband and I stayed here for a month with our three teenage boys, and we had a wonderful time. The house is delightfully eccentric (three kitchens!) and also well supplied and practical. It is lovingly maintained and decorated, with a beautiful view of the colonial town and harbor. The owner is friendly and very responsive to communication from guests. The neighborhood is vintage New England, with marvelous shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. We highly recommend this property!
