About this property
Pet-Friendly Lakeside Cottage w/ Kayaks and Canoe!
Welcome to Cattail Cottage, your cozy retreat nestled on the shores of Lower Holly Lake, in Stone Lake, Wisconsin. This open-concept cabin, built in 2021, boasts a perfect blend of modern comfort and rustic charm.
First, some quick notes:
Parking -- We kindly ask for a 4 vehicle limit. The driveway is the only place to park and it is not very big :-).
Dock Install/removal -- Our dock for Cattail Cottage is located within short walking distance from the property. Check out the illustration we have in the photo gallery that shows where the dock is! We usually take the dock out of the water late October (we wait as long as we can) and we usually put it back in around mid/late April (we try to get it in as soon as we can). If you are looking at dates during either of these times of the year, don't hesitate to reach out to confirm status before booking.
If you are thinking of bringing your own boat, ATV's, snowmobiles, etc, get a hold of me so we can talk logistics. The road coming into the cabin is tight, and so is the driveway.

We had an amazing experience at the Cattail Cottage! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The location was ideal—peaceful and private, yet close enough to local attractions and amenities. The host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, making check-in and communication a breeze. We especially loved the cozy fireplace! We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch getaway!
Our group of 9 (two couples, one grandpa, 4 teenagers) 1 small dog had a great time! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We found the lake to be great for swimming, and also made good use of the kayaks and canoe.
The property is absolutely beautiful both inside and out, there was so much space for us to spread out and it felt like the full family was there with our pups.
Check in was smooth and easy. Beautiful view of the lake. Our family really enjoyed the use of kayaks and canoe. And dining room table and chairs could fit all of us for all our meals. Great location to Hayward for groceries, the best candy store, and huge delicious scoops of ice cream in several stores!
The property is very comfortable and beautifully finished in knotty pine. It was furnished with all the amenities we needed, even firewood for an outdoor fire pit.
The owner is very easy to communicate with and responds quickly to any questions you may have.
We truly enjoyed our stay!
Excellent experience overall. Plenty of space for everyone. Very comfy beds. Lovely lake view and great for winter fun. Indoors enjoyed playing ping pong, games and relaxing by the fireplace.
We visited with another family and the space was great for 8 people, all ages. The cabin has the basic necessities and the lake access was wonderful. We will definitely keep this location in mind for future cabin trips! The host provided us with so much information upfront that it kept our need to communicate very minimal so we could be in full vacation mode!
The property was beautiful! You could hear loons at night before bed and in the mornings. Plenty of firewood and chairs for nightly fires. Comfy beds. Great location. The property owner was very quick to respond and had lots of information sent to us and posted in the property making check in and check out easy to follow.
Our stay was great. We close enough to Hayward and yet far enough away to avoid crowds. The property was clean and the yard was maintained. Communication with property manager excelled.
We stayed with our adult children and parents as well as our two dogs. Property had absolutely everything we needed and much more. Lots of space and things to do in the area. Host was super committed to make sure we had everything we needed before and duringduringour stayeveryone
Very nice property with quiet location. Brad was very helpful and stayed in contact. We found The Cottage very clean and comfortable, plenty of room for 5 adults and two dogs. Love that this location is pet friendly and we were able to vacation with our dogs. Kayaks and canoe we a hit on the quiet Lower Holly Lake.
So comfortable and clean! Brad was helpful with every question or need we had. Beautiful lake view and the canoe and kayaks were a huge hit! We had 6 adults and family pets and had more than enough room for everyone. Will brag about this place for a long time!
The property was wonderful! My family of 10 and our dogs had a wonderful time at this home! It is open and spacious enough so that we never felt like we were tripping over anyone. The scenery if beautiful and it was very quiet there as well! Lots of space to play games, do puzzles and play ping pong!
We had a wonderful time at this property with my siblings & their spouses. Our parents had a place near Birchwood when we were growing up & it was so fun to be in the area & revisit places we use to go to. We all were delighted with the cabin, views, owners attentiveness etc. We hope to return for another reunion.

Great home!
We travel a lot and rent a ton of houses. This is the best home we have stayed at in the Cable/Hayward area. It is very clean, modern and super well equipped. We now stayed there 4 times and enjoyed every stay. Our recent stay was for the Birkie ski race, and it worked great. The host is also super responsive. We will continue to stay here if we are in the area. :-)
The home was extremely clean, well equipped and there were amazing views. They really thought of everything for this place. The host was very communicative and we had an amazing time! Such a beautifully made cabin with games, outdoor activities and super comfortable beds. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay! Thank you!
Everything was as described and maybe a little under sold. The property was impeccably clean, the communication was on point and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kids asked if we could stay there forever.
Very neat, clean and in a quiet location but yet close enough to town for activities and groceries.
Cabin was well stocked with everything we needed.
Plenty of games and space to keep busy.
The beach area is not located directly on the property but it is a short walk down a nearby trail.
Pretty sunsets.
Overall we all had a great time.
The place was very clean. Nice to have a bedroom downstairs to put my grandson to bed and we could be upstairs playing cards. Appreciated being able to bring our dog. Wish there would of been snow to play in. We enjoyed gong for a hike and went whistle Puke.
The host was very nice and communicated very well. The cottage easily accommodated our family of 10 (6 adults and 4 kids aged 4-11). It was extremely clean and everything was provided that he said would be provided. Everyone was very comfortable there and felt very safe and relaxed. The Black Stone grill got used for just about every meal while we were there. What a great amenity to have. Beds were comfortable, which allowed for a great night of sleep. The views of the lake through the large windowed wall and from the campfire ring were breathtaking. Overall we all had a fantastic time and will definitely stay there again if we ever decide to vacation in that area again. Highly recommended!!
We had a wonderful time at the Cattail Cottage. We met up with three other families, and had plenty of space to spread out and relax. The area was very quiet and peaceful, with beautiful views. The cottage was clean and had lots of fun amenities, including puzzles and the ping pong table! We would definitely go back. 10/10.
We had an excellent time at the Cottage. My whole family enjoyed the fire pit roasting smores on the warm summer nights. The ping pong table was a hit with my teen. My husband and son even ventured on the kayaks and went around the lake a couple of times.. The house was very clean with plenty of towels and bedding The welcome book was very thorough. It was really an enjoyable experience I would definitely stay here again.
The cabin is very clean and high quality. Love how everything is labeled - especially all the lights! Double bonus that there was a sponge and dish soap since I always forget to pack that. Love that it’s pet friendly. The floors are not carpeted which makes it great for pets. We have stayed in multiple of Brads properties and he is super responsive and answers all my questions.
