My wife and I picked the Tahoe area as we had never been to the area. Am I glad we did. The condo itself is very nice, although I want to see what it looks like after the construction currently ongoing. Bed was very comfortable, the master shower might be the best I’ve had (including stints at the American Club and Four Seasons properties), and the location cannot be beat. It could be a bit warm at night just due to lack of cross ventilation, but overall it was great. Communication with the owner was excellent… he checked in with us a few days after check in and was always available. The resort itself is undergoing renovations and construction, and as a result, the pool was not available. We made do, but the lack of a pool was a bit of a problem, as one can hike and do nature activity only so much. Had I known about the construction and the lack of a pool, I probably would not have booked the condo. In this case, it worked out, and I would be VERY happy to book again. The condo itself is near a Costco wearhouse, with considerably cheaper gas and all the advantages Costco provides. It is a short drive into South Lake Tahoe itself, with all of the restaurants and attractions of the area. It avoids California taxes. It is well-appointed, with both a Keurig machine and a small drip coffee maker, both of which were appreciated. Kitchen has just about anything one would need for a dinner, although we did not really use the kitchen for anything other than breakfast. For those that like happy hour and do not relish the drive down the mountain (with very good reason), there is a restaurant and bar just down the hill, the Fox and Hound, with great BBQ, sandwiches, and pizza. There is close proximity to Heavenly, the big ski resort in the area. In all, this is a great place to rent and vacation. My wife and I will be back. It really was a heavenly week plus.
