Beachfront Cottages GARDEN at Beautiful Sandy Shores on Gulf of Mexico

Please be our guest! Sandy Shores has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores!

Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat.

Beautiful location and neighborhood.

The property sits right on the beach with restauraunts and shops within walking distance. There is a flower garden with lots of seating and shade if the beach is too hot or you've gotten too much sun. The cottage was emaculate with a very nice kitchen area and very comfortable bed. There were lots of beach amenities to utilize and a very nice laundry facility to use if needed. Mrytle was a very welcoming host and was easily available had any problems occurred (which did not). My adult daughter and i went for a relaxing getaway and it was perfect!

Loved the location, Myrtle was a wonderful host and the cottage was very clean. Lovely garden and terrific beach access. A great place to escape for a few days!

Sandy Shores is an Amazing beach side cottage that offers a Beautiful garden, walking distance restaurants, beach equipment, and a Lovely onsite owner. You will want to come back again and again!

Great location!

We had a wonderful stay! Myrtle was very accommodating and the space she has created is wonderful!! Walking distance to several restaurants and general goods. The beach is right there and the sunsets were the highlight of the trip!

Home comfort in Indian Rocks Beach

As a four time repeat guest at Sandy Shores, the high expectation for warmth and comfort that Myrtle has set for her place was once again met. The location, the beach, the cleanliness and especially the wonderful host have always made our stays comfortable and memorable.

Perfect stay

This was our second stay at Sandy Shores and it did not disappoint. The rooms are sparkling clean, tastefully decorated and fully stocked. The beautiful grounds, great location and an exceptional hostess make this a special place. A true gem!

Hidden Gem!

Sandy Shores is a fantastic place to relax and getaway. The units are clean and updated, the Property was gorgeous from the gardens to the beach, and Myrtle was an incredibly kind and helpful host. I'll be coming back at some point for sure to experience once again the old school Florida Beach cottage charm!

Worth every second

It was our second time staying at Sandy Shores. It was relaxing to say the least. The location is perfect and picturesque. This rental is worth your time, funds, and efforts. Memories will be made at this beach house.

Very clean property, on-site owner. Beach chairs provided, on beach property. Three units available, one directly faces beach. Lot of shade due to beautiful trees and garden a nice respite from the sun.

So Comfortable and Cozy!

Myrtle is a complete delight! She met us when we arrived and showed us around. We brought 2 teenage boys with us who fished the entire day/night and enjoyed being so close to the beach. My husband and I really enjoyed the gardens and how clean everything was! There are great restaurants nearby and at the end of the day, we slept GREAT in the most comfortable bed!

Delightful

This was a delightful experience . We were in cottage one which does not have beach view, however, the gardens and sitting areas provide a sought after view of the water. Next time would love the cottage which enjoys a beach/ water view. There was ample shade around the property too which allowed respite from the heat of the day. We would definitely come again .

Breathtaking

The host was thorough showing us the property and everything she had to offer us. The cottage and garden was amazing. Cottage was very clean nice homie feel. Garden was absolutely beautiful. A true gem!

Imagine reading your book, eating your meals, even napping with the soothing sound of waves. The beach is steps away through powdery white sand. Every evening features a beautiful sunset. Myrtle has created a beautiful garden with private pockets for relaxing. She has also thought of every need down to beach towels and an umbrella. Staying with her was like visiting a relative, comfortable and homey. This place checked everything on my list. I wanted small, quiet, shady with beach access without crossing a road. I was also drawn to the 1950’s v-groove paneling because it reminds me of my grandparents home. If you are interested in a more modern interior, you should book the gulf view cottage.

Wonderful accommodations on a beautiful beach!

All of the rave reviews are accurate! Sandy Shores was the perfect spot for our 4 day getaway! Myrtle has thought of everything. The Garden Cottage was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. As a light sleeper, I was concerned about the fact that the Garden Cottage faces Gulf Blvd, but was happy to find that with the AC running, I was not at all bothered by traffic noise. The gardens are beautiful and the beach is absolutely gorgeous, clean, and literally a 10 second walk down the beautiful garden path from the Garden Cottage. Myrtle was extremely accommodating and easy to reach by phone or text, and provides anything you can possibly need. There are several good restaurants within walking distance and other restaurants and shopping within a short drive. We will be back!!

Birthday Vacay!

We had a great time at Sandy Shores Garden cottage! We were celebrating a special birthday with a weeklong event that included beach, golf, Bucs football game, food, fun, sun, walking, craft beer, nature preserve, shopping, exploring and much needed R&R. We found the cottage so very quaint and furnished in old style Florida fashion...dark wood interior, turquoise colored bathroom tile, etc. The bathroom and shower is small but served our needs. The hot water gets hot quickly-we love that. Soft water results in flat hair but hey, we're on vacation so who cares? The kitchen has all the basics. We ate in a few times. Anecdote Brewing is right across the street and we love craft beer so a big plus there for us! Guilty Sea Sports Bar nearby had super margaritas for $5 and the bone in wings were great! I did used the big washer and the dryer. Only $4 - honor system. There is laundry soap but no dryer sheets or balls so may want to bring those. You can be as private as you want or socialize with the other guests. The beach is about a two minute walk from the door (depending how fast you stroll) There are chairs & beach items...Everything you need to have a good time. There's a grill too! I loved taking my coffee to the tall chairs to work on my puzzles. Myrtle is a wonderful gracious hostess! We loved our get-away and hope to return someday and maybe try the Gulf unit. We highly recommend this location and rental. Cheers!

The property was very well kept and Myrtle was an excellent host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The only issue we had was that we weren’t able to stay longer and had to go back home to go to work lol.
