About this property
Cozy Cabin on the “Shadowy St Joe”
This stunning cabin is the perfect escape from a couple’s getaway to a large family gathering, we have room for everyone! The cabin faces the river so you can enjoy your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the river. You might even be lucky enough to see the deer, elk, moose and eagles that frequent the area!
Located 20 minutes from St. Maries, 5 miles to Calder and 35 miles to Avery there is endless access to outdoor actives for every season.
The St. Joe River offers activities for everyone! Hunting, Fishing, Hiking, floating, ATV/snowmobiling, the list goes on and on.
Anglers will love staying here, the St. Joe is known for its world class fly fishing for cutthroat. Get a group together to float the river! There are several locations both up and down river to float from. There is even a float tube/kayak launch just across from the cabin at the Cutthroat Resort. For the hiker in the group there are hundreds of miles of trails to access as well as several high mountain lakes in the area. For the sportsman, we offer a cooler to dress and hang your game.
The main cabin sleeps 7. There is also a detached bunk house equipped with 2 queen beds, microwave, coffee pot, heater and fan that could sleep 4 more. Lastly, there is 30-amp service available for an RV. (Additional RV available for rent at the Cutthroat Resort). There is ample room to park so feel free to bring your ATV or snowmobiles and take off right from the cabin on the numerous trail and logging roads. You will love how easy you can get to the cabin, located about 90 minutes from the Spokane/Coeur d’ Alene area makes it the perfect weekend getaway when you just need to “unplug” (WiFi available, no land line or cell service at the cabin). Jet up Friday evening and leave Monday in time to make it to work feeling revived! Nothing soothes the soul like sitting around a campfire watching the stars. If you are out for a walk along the east side of the property you will notice the caves. We have been told those are old mineshafts! Please admire from a distance and stay out due to falling rock. We hope you enjoy the cabin as much as we do. The cabin comes fully furnished, please reach out if there is something you feel could have made your stay better.

The cabin on the Shadowy St Joe was the perfect resting place for my immediate family as we joined my adult siblings and cousins and their families for a reunion on the St Joe several miles awsy from our cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable, with plenty of space for my wife and I plus our 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren. The kitchen provided anything we needed to make family meals. The jacuzi bath was enjoyed by the family.
The view of the St Joe river and surrounding mountains was picture perfect. We would stay here again if we visit St Maries and the beautiful St Joe river in the nesr future.

House is very well stocked with anything you will need for your stay. Host was great to work with and very responsive for any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this home.
It couldn’t have been any better . Great place , We will definitely be back. Texted with Kerri , about fishing , and their place . Great people , can’t wait to get back .
We were all very happy with the comforts of this cabin. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. The bedrooms were private and beds were clean and comfortable. Plenty of seating for us all. I hope to stay there again.
Our stay was so wonderful and peaceful. We had an amazing time at this beautiful cabin! Would love to stay again. Very spacious and met our needs. Comfortable with WI-FI, board games, and streaming services. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans and utensils - perfect for making our meals. Our hosts were responsive and very kind. Again, would love to stay here when we return to the area.
Our group had such a great family time. It fit our party of 11 perfectly!! The little bunk house was so cute for our junior high aged girls. They really enjoyed having a space to retreat to away from all the noise of their brothers, Haha! The wood burning stove kept us all so warm and cozy. We even made it a little too warm that our 4yo was walking around in her bathing suit. The kids had a great time in the jacuzzi tub, too. The view from the kitchen was beautiful overlooking the river and the gorgeous scenery.
The host was so accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions I had. The location was close enough to town that if we needed anything else, it wasn’t going to take too much time to get there and back. It had everything we needed! This is definitely going to be a place that we hope to return to again and again.
Perfect location for floating/kayaking the st Joe river….. very shallow and slow river this time of year so we had kids age 2-11 on the river …. The 10 an 11 year olds paddled their own kayaks and the littles rode along with adults , switching boat to boat as needed… it would be tempting as low and slow as the river is to not be life jacketed but we all wore them and it was definitely worth it when a paddle board fin broke off on the rocks making it unsteerable and it flipped in a deep hole against a dead tree in the water …. Throwing two littles and the adult into a deep spot in the river…… overall great time and the play set in the ‘yard’ was very helpful at keeping littles busy …. Only issue we had was no cell service anywhere so my husband would not explore with the razor in fear of having an issue and being unable to call for help……. The location loses cell service 10 miles out of st Marie’s and we never got it back until we left …… all of the other areas around the place also had no cell service…. Wi-Fi at the cabin allowed for texting and what’s app calls but even watching a movie via Disney plus was sketchy ….. would recommend if you want a nice clean place to get away from devices …. It’s also only about 39-40 miles from Hiawatha trail for bikes
This place was amazing. Rustic yet, refined. The owners went above and beyond to accommodate. Relaxing by the woodstove, watching the snow fall while geese land in the river near by was just what we needed. We will be back for sure.
