Wir kommen wieder

Welch ein wunderschöner Ort! Das Gästehaus ist liebevoll gepflegt. Die Gastfreundschaft war unglaublich! Das Frühstück einfach super. Der Strand ist fussläufig zu erreichen. In die Stadt sind wir abends (wegen hippo’s auf den Straßen) lieber mit dem Auto gefahren. Für uns ein idealer Zwischenstopp vom Kruger Park in den Süden. Wenn ihr ein Zimmer in St. Lucia sucht, kann ich dies hier nur empfehlen!

Nous recommandons cet hebergement

Un lieu idéal pour se ressourcer et faire une halte au paradis des hipopotames. Gisela et son fils sont adorables et font tout pour rendre le sejour parfait. Une petite piscine au coeur d'un jardin luxuriant et bien entretenu. Petit déjeuner copieux et varié. les chambres sont grandes, la litérie très confortable et une terrasse est à disposition. Le soir , on peut voir des hipo balader dans les rues alentour. Bref un séjour parfait. N'hésitez pas à y aller. Vous serez reçus comme des rois.

It’s the place to be in Ste Lucia !!!

Quatre ans après nous n’avons pas hésiter à revenir au Maputaland. Un petit paradis sur terre. Nos hôtes c’est super gentil et un accueil chaleureux et toujours de très bons conseils. Tout était réuni pour notre confort. Chambre spacieuse. Petit déjeuner 10/10. 1000 merci pour tout. Nous recommandons à 300%.

What an incredible experience! From the beautifully manicured backyard, to the comfortable room, the delicious breakfast and the friendly staff - you can’t ask for a better place to stay in the quaint town of St. Lucia. We really enjoyed our stay and wished we had another day to explore the area.

Maputaland Guest House for 8 days late April

Great stay at Maputaland Guest House. The owners are super friendly, providing good service and local advice. Rooms are comfortable, with a kettle, fridge and AC. No TV though. Breakfasts are great and generous. Never hungry for the day! Peaceful garden with a Pool and if a hippo walks by in the evening one can watch it over the wall from the garden. I'd recommend it

Fast wie Zuhause...

Zum 2. Mal in St. Lucia. Sehr schönes, nicht ganz neues Guest House, ist aber sehr gepflegt und wunderschön. Sehr nette Gastgeber, tolles Frühstück und viele Tipps zum Aufenthalt in diesem kleinen, gemütlichen Ort an der Küste. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Sehr schöne, gemütliche Unterkunft mit herzlicher Gastfreundschaft. Angefangen vom netten Empfang, über beste Tipps zu Restaurants und Umgebung, gemütlichen Betten und vielen Kleinigkeiten wie Strandhandtücher, Mückenspray, WLAN ist alles wunderbar. Das Frühstück direkt am Pool lässt ebenso keine Wünsche offen. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Very good B&B with warm hospitality, comfort and delicious breakfasts. The well looked after garden and its pool is a nice play to stay after a long day visiting St Lucia. Gisela and her son Jörg are lovely hosts and made very helpful suggestions for what to visit. I highly recommend this B&B where I stayed 3 nights.

The most credit goes to the family who runs this hotel. From the very beginning of our stay we felt genuine hospitality. In this kind of places you don't even notice if there is something minor to complain about as it feels like home. We felt very natural staying there. Highly recommended!

A friendly and supporting stay in St Lucia

Had 2 nights at Maputaland and we found the stay fantastic. It felt friendly and like at home from the very beginning. We got a very good introduction at arrival with all information we needed about the guest house and about St Lucia. The whole atmosphere was friendly and all guests enjoyed the time. Owner helped us to book tours and gave us ideas on how to do. Breakfast was really good and we enjoyed the pool. We are already planning to come back again and are strongly recommending this guest house.

Wonderful and warm-hearted start in South Africa

Decided to skip Kruger Park and start our travel in St. Lucia - with no regrets. We had such a good time at Maputland Guesthouse. Gisela and her son were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home right away. Outstanding individual breakfast (with a charming view towards the garden area), great coffee and delicious fruit salad. The lodge is very well equipped and has a beautiful garden with a nice pool area. You can buy inexpensive drinks or ice cream if you’d like. St. Lucia is great for activities such as a safari in Wetland Park or going for a little boat tour to see hippos and crocodiles. Nice beach area as well and you can meet hippos at night in the neighborhood as they leave the water for eating. Great experience. Would definitely recommend and come back! Thank you Gisela

Gästehaus mit einfachen Standard.

Die Gastgeberin Gisela ist wirklich sehr freundlich und wir haben fast ein schlechtes Gewissen, hier eine negative Bewertung abzugeben, aber in Anbetracht der vielen positiven Bewertungen möchten wir einmal darstellen, wie wir es gesehen haben. Unser Zimmer (Nr. 2) war recht klein und man hatte Probleme das Gepäck so abzustellen, dass man nicht ständig stolperte. Die Einrichtung war eher alt. Insbesondere das Bad wirkte ungepflegt und schmutzig (siehe Fotos), v.a. die Toilette und die Badematte waren schon erschreckend schmutzig. Die Klimaanlage wurde vom Zimmermädchen immer abgestellt und dafür die Fenster geöffnet, die kein Mückengitter hatten. Wenn man dann zurück kam, Licht anmachte und erst später merkte, dass die Fenster geöffnet wurden, hatte man Mücken im Zimmer. Das Frühstück ist zwar gut, aber man bekommt es erst ab 7:30 Uhr. Da man in St. Lucia für Besichtigungen von Nationalparks usw. ist und es ab 05:30 hell war und ab 18 Uhr wieder dunkel, war das Warten auf das Frühstück eigentlich verschenkte Zeit. Für die 6 Zimmer gibt es beim Frühstück nur 4 Tische. Notfalls werden Gäste zusammengesetzt. Am letzten Morgen gab es kein fließendes Wasser, da es irgendwelche Probleme mit der Pumpe gab. WLAN gibt es nur auf der Gemeinschaftsterasse und nicht in den Zimmern. Der Safe ist winzig. Fazit: Gisela ist nett, und wer auf persönliche Betreuung Wert legt, kann dort schlafen. Er sollte aber nicht mehr als einfachen Standard und keine übertriebene Sauberkeit erwarten.
