Prime Loft of Main Street

Historic loft centrally located along the St. Charles riverfront, on the north end of Main Street and just south of Frenchtown. Enjoy Frontier Park, shops, restaurants, and night scene - all within walking distance.

The newly renovated 2 bedroom and 2 full bathroom apartment can easily accommodate groups of six. The completely updated kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a dishwasher. Convenient in-house washer and dryer available for extended stays

Note to guest:
1) No visitors allowed unless discussed with owner.

2) $15 extra guest fee after 4 guests

3) Air conditioner minimum temperature is 72 Fahrenheit. All units have new air conditioners. But the red brick walls have no insulation and during the hot weather if the air conditioner is pushed too hard, it will create blocks of ice inside it then quit working until the ice melts. This problem only happens if temperatures are set below 70 F, so we limit it to 72 F.

4) We are above a coffee shop, so there is potential for noise.

My husband and I had a wonderful time in St Charles. The property was clean and in the perfect location. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The coffee shop under the property makes great coffee and was never loud. Will stay here again!

Getaway with my sister

We have stayed at this loft the past 3 years. My sister and I love to stay here when we spend the weekend on our annual shopping trip to St. Charles. Gloria is a great host with a great location.

Nice short stay

We enjoyed our stay here. Very nice easy location to walk to everything. We did not know the coffee shop below would be open past midnight so it was a little disturbing to walk back after the bars to find people sitting in front of the door. Luckily the noise didn’t bother us!

Great location

Only issue is none of the blinds were able to adjust so the street lights shining in and early sunrise was hard to avoid. I may have missed it, but a lot of steps to get up to the loft from the street.

Wonderful location and accommodations!

We rented this loft for a wedding in St. Charles, and the location was perfect! Lots of good restaurants and shops all within walking distance. It's right above a coffee shop that stays open late on the weekends, so you can expect some late night noise. There is a steep staircase to get to the loft and a low sofa, so be aware of that with older visitors or those with mobility issues. The property was just as described, clean and so cute. The hosts were wonderful to work with and very quick to respond to all questions or requests! We would stay here again!

Perfect for Getaway

This apartment was perfect for a girls getaway! Very to date and clean apartment that was perfect for a great getaway weekend. The two bathrooms worked very well and we had lots of room! A perfect spot for shopping and going out to eat. Comfortable and inviting. Bonus that there is a reserved parking spot. It was the Art Festival weekend so a bonus but a bit challenging to follow GPS with closed streets but once we found our way was easy to access. Would recommend to any couples or ladies looking to get away !

The sofa is very low to the floor hard on older people and it is getting worn out. The stairs were very steep again especially for older people. The beds were all comfortable and sheets were soft

Great location-Easy access

I book all my VRBO's from reviews. So, I like to be 100% honest. This is a great apartment! Nice to be on historic main street with a lot of places to visit. Nice walking path near by. Great communication with owner. There is a lot of street noise (which we expected), there is a lot of early morning noise (like tables and chairs scooting on the floor), below the apartment and I assumed it was from the Ice Cream shop below. Understandably, the historic building did not cool down very well even using the ceiling fans (I think it reached 84 one of the days). This was a great, fun place to stay.

Great Locatuon

This is a comfortable place in an amazing location. Lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The river is just a block away and has a long trail. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is a bit small but manageable.

The Town was great this unit not as we expected.

It is listed 1 bed downstairs. 1 futon downstairs 4 beds upstairs. We found the futon in the living room to be different and less quality version of what is photographed. Also no linens for this futon so not usable as a bed.We also found the seating in the dinning area had enough chairs. But the quality of chairs was not great. We did not feel comfortable sitting and chatting in the space. The listing does state the temperature must stay at 72. While that didn’t sound like an issue, we found the temperature upstairs was so high it was uncomfortable to sleep. There are ceiling fans but not enough airflow to make it comfortable. We went in May. I would have to assume it’s unbearable in August. Parking is noted as available. There is one parking space for this unit. All other streets are 2 hour parking only. This particular weekend the whole street was closed for a market. Per the host they don’t ticket so just park anyway. Just be aware if you are bringing more than one vehicle you may be searching for a safe place to park. In the listing it mentions being above a coffee shop and there may be some noise. What it doesn’t say is the coffee shop is open 10 am to midnight. After they close the employees sit out front on the sidewalk and have a party. Friday it was late before they left, all on motorcycles. Saturday we had to call the police to ask them to leave at 2 am. I find it hard to believe the host had no idea this was excessive.
