SGI Family Retreat

Had a wonderful time in this lovely 4 br home. Everything was super clean, the pool was great and communication with the owner was superb. We would def rent this unit again for our next trip.

Beach Vacation

I was impressed with the house! The yard was great for the dogs, and the location was perfect. We could walk across to the beach or ride bikes along the path across the street. Everything was exactly as pictured and described.

Perfect Getaway

This house is perfect for a beach getaway! Very short walk to beach and short drive to the island center with restaurants and stores. The house was very clean and cozy, and well stocked with anything you might need. Our host was also very communicative and provided great details before the stay to help plan and pack.

Great rental!

So close to the beach and the perfect dog-friendly rental! Laura was a great host and checked in with us to see if we needed anything. Would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone looking to stay on St. George Island!

Great family trip!

We had the opportunity for a last minute trip with my daughter, her husband and my two “granddogs.” This house is perfect for pups - the fenced in area was great! The house was also great for adults - we had plenty of room, the home was clean and the pool was lovely. Walk to the beach was minimal. We would highly recommend!

Fall adventure with friends

There were 4 of us adults and our large dog. We came down to SGI to go to Porchfest and enjoy SGI. This property was great for us - close to the beach, a great yard for our dog, wonderful pool and lovely deck for enjoying coffee and conversation. The weather was perfect and the host was super helpful.

Wonderful kid, dog, and adult stay

House was great. Pool was wonderful. Everything we needed for the doggie and the toddler. Well stocked. Beach is a short walk. Only 2 “need improvement” items: drawers/cabinets in kitchen have badly peeling laminate (paper) and child/dog gate at top of deck steps is hard to open/close.

A great stay!

We had the best week! The house had everything needed it was like being at home away from home. We loved playing corn hole in the evenings. The kitchen was very well stocked for all our cooking needs! The walk to the beach was so easy with the access right across in front of the house. We hope to be back very soon!

Our Happy Place

This was our 4th trip to SGI and this home was by far our favorite. The home was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. With a family of 8 adults and a baby we never felt crowded. The location to the beach was a short walk to the beach and the beach was beautiful as always! Laura messaged me a couple of weeks before our vacation and told me to go look at pictures that they added a pool! That became our favorite afternoon activity after being in the heat all morning at the beach. The pool area is beautiful! We would definitely rent here again!

Fun and functional

The house was great. you could be close to one another without feeling crammed or too close together, the property was quaint yet spacious. The kitchen counters were adorable. The outdoor shower was great after a day at the beach, just remember to have towels and not track water in the house! the front porch was so wonderful, the house itself felt more home like than a rental. Very welcoming and, this was our first vacation with friends and personally I think it was perfect.

Comfortable and Cozy

The check-in process was not even a process. Received a text with all the information needed, and a phone number in case we needed anything. The kitchen is fully stocked, with some surprises of having olive oil and a few spices available. Our dog loved being able to hang out on the deck, without our worry of him getting out with the dog gate at the stairway and the backyard was a plus that he could be out back safely having the yard in the back fully fenced. We are planning to return here again and will be our go to house as first pick when we do.

Island Homeplace

A really livable, lovable house. Our group of yesterday's children and conniving canines adored the layout... Not too many stairs up to main living area, 2 bdrms on same level: helps young and old alike. 2 more bdrms upstairs. Nice layout, all facing front deck and the shore Another plus is the safe decking design that lets us give the doggy acess to the fenced backyard but not the neighborhood! Great idea. Visited in January '24...good times but challenging weather, still enjoyed walking with our pup on beach, exploring bayside, sightseeing and shopping. And the restaurants! Some of the best whole flounder ever at 2 different restaurants. Family Tradition isn't a cookie-cutter house. I found it totally charming.

Comfortable, clean, and pleasant!

The porch rocking chairs are comfortable & there are plenty of comfy counter stools. Lots of games & books for rainy days. Short path to the beach is right across the street. I was concerned that there'd be too much traffic on this street, but during our January stay there wasn't much, though I expect in summer there's more. Low trees in the front yard partially block the traffic which is nice. Large well-fenced back yard for our dog. Big bedspreads are supplied to cover the couch if you think your dog may jump up for a snooze. Electric outlets were where we needed them & so were hangers for hats, jackets, etc. House was supplied with everything we needed for cooking, including a well-seasoned cast iron skillet. Even the pot-holders are clean! Since the kitchen has an older-style layout from when kitchens & appliances were smaller than today, the fridge fits its space snugly & the left fridge door doesn't quite open all the way. This wasn't a problem for us--just open both fridge doors for easy access. Alternative would have been smaller fridge & you wouldn't want that. Stove, washer & dryer are modern. Beautiful wood ceiling! Car/small pickup will fit under house in shade if you're careful not to scrape sides on posts that hold up house. Family Traditions isn't fancy & if you want gold chandeliers, huge rooms & marble counters, you won't find them here. You will find a very comfortable, convenient, & clean beach cottage that will make you feel at home right away!

For a quick beach get away this was perfect. House had the adorable comfortable beach bungalow feel. A quick walk to the beach and a cute pool for relaxing at home. Owner is great and went above and beyond when we had rental car issues on the day we checked out!!

The family and animals loved the house! Unfortunately we had to take an emergency trip to the vet when our small dog had a couple sips of saltwater. There were a few hiccups with the house and grounds, but that usually normal with any property you rent.

Beautiful home & Amazing Location

The house was beautiful. The owner was very responsive to our messages and accommodated us needing a playpen for one of our twins. The kids loved the heated pool at night. Would definitely stay here again!!

The Perfect Beach House!

The house was amazing and only a short walk to the beach. This was our first trip to St. George Island and we plan to make the island and this property our go-to spot for future vacations!
