Relaxing Home Away from Home! Pets, Private Pool, Steps to Beach- a rare find!

Sea Gem is a relaxing cape cod style beach home located about midway inside the St. George Island gated secure community. If you want a quiet, serene, beautiful piece of paradise— then Sea Gem will be perfect for you and your fur babies!

There are two master suites, one on the first floor and the other upstairs both featuring relacing master baths that invite you to let go of your worries and settle into beach life. Vaulted ceilings in the living room provide an open and airy feel. The home features hardwood floors downstairs and carpeted spaces upstairs (for quiet and fur babies comfort). Each bedroom and the main room have flat panel televisions with Dish Network, Fire TV. There are DVD players and a DVD library in case of an inclement day or if someone gets sunburned snd needs a bit of time “in”. Sea Gem has a collection of games and jigsaw puzzles for some family bonding. The kitchen is chock full of anything you could need including both a Keurig and a standard coffee maker. Plus, a local owner a gew blocks away is ready to help if you need anything! If you cannot completely "unplug" there is free wi-fi that can run all your family's devices with no buffering!

Rock away with your favorite book or beverage on the covered front porch, or have lunch on the sun deck below while watching the kids splash in the private heated pool (extra heat fee-available only in Spring and Fall). There is a charcoal grill, enclosed outdoor shower, and even a few beach toys! We have a kayak and a bike or two for the more adventurous travelers! Your linens are all included and there are even beach towels available for your use.

The grounds are neatly landscaped with beautiful native vegetation. There is ample parking (some covered). Beach access is just steps away, directly across the street from Sea Gem (see picture).

Premium linens, with double pillows on Kings and Queen beds, beach towels and cleaning service are also included at Sea Gem and will make your vacation experience a breeze! Enjoy access to the clubhouse and amenities including 2 resort size swimming pools, hot tub, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, bike trail, gated security entrance, workout room, and private beaches. *We are pet friendly and allow (1) dog for a $75.00 non-refundable pet fee. If you have an additional pet please contact me and we can make it work.

Perfect stay in SGI Plantation

Sea Gem was a wonderful stay. Comfortable beds, very clean, quiet location, convenient to beach. Had most of the things you would need for a beach stay. Decorated perfectly for the beach without being too themey. Pool is fantastic. Great Location! Easy walk to beach for little kids. House was stocked with everything needed for the beach which was very nice. Beaches were not crowded at all and the location was very private. Pool was so nice to have and provided a great place to relax and swim. Also, very close to grocery store and restaurants. Wish we would have rented additional bikes for the entire family so that we could have explored the plantation a little bit more.

Fun at the beach

We loved the house. Great location near the beach. Sheryl was an absolute delight and was very helpful, even with suggestions for places to eat. The views from the bedrooms were nice - would easily go there again.

FANTASTIC STAY

The property was so cozy and comfortable!! Everything worked perfectly, and was just as pictured. Sheryl was great!! We had the best time in St. George! Our first time to visit and it was relaxing and perfect!

Great Family Vacation

Sea Gem was absolutely awesome! Just steps from the beautiful gulf beach. The pool was wonderful. The house had everything we needed and the host was very nice and available anytime we had questions. You can’t go wrong with Sea Gem!

Wonderful Thanksgiving at the beach

The house and pool were excellent. The property had a very tropical private feel with nice views of the gulf and close beach access. Our first time to St George Island and it was great. Hope to return in the future and will definitely consider Sea Gem for our stay. Cheryl is a great host, very responsive and helpful.

Lovely week

We had a lovely week at SGI in the Sea Gem! House was clean and beds were comfy. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need for cooking and eating in. We loved having the beach access right across the street for our daily walks on the beach and shell collecting. Thanks for a relaxing week!

2nd visit was just as great as the first!

Another wonderful stay at Sea Gem! Our party of 7 (4 adults/3 children) were very comfortable throughout our stay. The kitchen is very well supplied with everything needed. Sheryl also has done some updates that add to the appeal, and she is very responsive to any questions. Our family can't wait for another trip!

Beach Getaway

Sea Gem worked out perfectly for our family. The location was perfect. Everyone was very comfortable, we had plenty of room. The pool was extremely private and couldn’t have been better for relaxing and swimming and the kids loved the less sandy option for the toddler. The street was private and quiet, yet right across the way was a boardwalk path to the beach, a very short walk. Sheryl was quick to answer any questions. Our evenings ended with rocking in the chairs on the porch and planning our next visit. Sea Gem helped make this trip full of great memories which was exactly what I was hoping for!

Perfect property, location, and host

My family has been vacationing on St. George Island for the better part of 20 years, with all but a couple visits not on The Plantation. We can't say enough about how much we've loved our time on the island over the years including fishing, kayaking, biking, running, swimming, and just general hanging on the beach. This is our definition of a beach paradise that allows us to bring our pups on the beach with responsible pet parents to boot, i.e., no compromising beach cleanliness, beauty, or general love of fur kids on the beach. Now, regarding the house: Sheryl has truly made a little beach paradise oasis all but a hop, skip, and jump from the beach. All the amenities you could ask for on the beach including kayaks, bikes, pool, and general beautiful setting and home. Location and property was not only as advertised but even better than expected. Highly recommended and two paws up from Pants, our 12 y/o Yellow Lab!

Beautiful spring vacation

We had a lovely week on SGI for our children’s spring break. Unfortunately the pool heat never worked so we were unable to use the pool much during our stay as it stayed below 80 degrees. The issue was not repaired during our stay but the owner was communicative and apologetic and refunded our pool heat fee. The views of the gulf from the top floor and master were gorgeous. The house was clean enough, and layout was nice for our group. The pool situation was very disappointing as I had messaged owner several days before we arrived asking that we be assured that pool would be heated upon arrival. Owner was uninformed of the pool heat issue even though previous guests had also been without it. Overall we still had a lovely vacation, and will definitely be back to the island again.

Awesome house. Very clean. The view is great. Open floor plan. Lots of natural light. The 2 master bedrooms have super-cool bathrooms. Kitchen has every utencil you can think of. Sitting on the front porch in the rocking chairs and watching the ocean was so relaxing. Having our own pool was fun. Location on island is private and safe. The beach was not crowded. One late afternoon I was the only person out there. The owner was a dream to work with. Easy to text. Responded quickly. Thank you Sheryl. Only negative I can think of is the internet and cell coverage are not as strong on the island as they are on the mainland. Makes sense. It's an island. I highly recommend this property !

Everything was awesome! All of us, especially the dog, had a blast!! Beach very close and quiet....pool very relaxing! Sheryl is a great host and available with no complaints to help with any question or issue. Will def stay there again!

Wonderful all around!

Clean, amazingly comfortable beds, lovely decor, perfectly situated close to the beach, well stocked kitchen with the amenities we needed and a communicative host! If you have a large group, bring a couple extra beach towels - the two person kayak was not on the property as stated in the description. None of those were show stoppers - we will be back. The Plantation on St. George can’t be beat if you are looking for beauty, relaxation, and beaches that are not crowded.

Lovely Home!

We stayed in this home for 2 weeks and we enjoyed the home very much, it was spacious, clean and well equipped. The pool was very clean as well. Sheryl, the property mgr., was super nice. We brought our 2 little dogs and we all enjoyed hanging on the large porch. We made sure to keep them quiet (with bark collars) to not disturb the neighbors. We could only see a tiny bit of the ocean but we could hear the waves from the porch which was a bonus. We really enjoyed early morning dog walks on the beach and afternoon walks in the neighborhood. All in all, it was a peaceful and fun 2 weeks. We will be back to SGI for sure.

Property was not ready for our stay. Burned out lite bulbs, nothing to wipe or clean dishes with, pool filter not working, bathrooms dusty, windows filthy. The property appeared to be neglected. Called owner and she was very nice and accommodating.

Amazing Vacation

This home is gorgeous and so comfortable. Sheryl is a wonderful host always checking on you to make sure you have everything you need and has lots of info about the island. The home is a very short walk to the beach and she even provides beach chairs. The home was just perfect for the 8 of us!
