A Ruff Life is the quintessential Beach Cottage! Ruff features stunning ocean views, a fantastic deck, and is just 100 steps to the white sands of the Gulf. Its location in center island makes it the perfect place for families. After watching the dolphins from the deck or the soft sand, its an easy walk to the center of the island and all of the shops, restaurants, lighthouse, and activities St George Island has to offer.

Ruff Life, as the name suggests, is not only perfect for people but is pet friendly too! No reason to leave your fur family behind, Ruff has mats, flooring, and a gated deck so your furry friend can hang out with you before heading to the beach which is steps away!

Ruff features a well appointed kitchen, laundry, Wifi, Hi-definition TVs, DVDs, movies, and wireless speakers for streaming your favorite beach tunes. The open feeling and bright colors bring the beauty of this special island inside so even a rainy day is special. Take a quick walk to center island and pick up doughnuts, visit a restaurant or bar, or grab a souvenir or groceries. Walk home and enjoy wine on the deck as you watch the magnificent sunsets change the color of the ocean and sky. Ruff Life is the best of what St George Island has to offer--paradise.

There is plenty of room at Ruff Life with both a King and a Queen bedroom sharing the downstairs bath, and a loft featuring a full bath and 2 large twin daybeds with great ocean views.

*Ruff is pet friendly and allows (1) dog for a $75.00 non-refundable pet fee. If you have an additional pet please contact me and we can make it work. We also do a $300 refundable damage deposit

Love the proximity to the beach and the ocean view from the deck. All restaurants, shops, Weber’s donuts, grocery were within walking distance. Kitchen was stocked well. Beds were very comfortable. No need to bring a beach chair as there were numerous styles to pick from❤️

This was our second time staying at this property, and it will not be the last. The owners were very helpful and responsive to our questions, the home was clean and inviting, and the view was gorgeous! We loved this house! Our family, including our 2 dogs, stayed here and it was perfect for us! Plenty of room, loved the sunroom area, the deck was great to sit outside and watch the dolphins in the morning. That was my favorite! And we really got great use of the outdoor shower-that was a plus after spending time at the beach! The location was great and we would definitely stay here again!

Spent a tranquil week at the pristine Ruff Life. Perfect location to watch ocean waves roll in and the gulls circle from the deck. Clean, quiet and perfect little yellow house that was bright and spacious too. Lots to do. Check out the park at east end of island or the quaint history in downtown Apalachicola.

Spring Break 2024

We had a great week at Ruff Life. The house was clean and had all the things we needed. It is a bit out dated — but we thought it was charming, and that didn’t bother us because the beds were comfy, the location and the layout was perfect for our family. The view from the deck and sun room is amazing. It is just steps from the beach which was awesome! If we ever return to the island we would stay again at Ruff Life. The owner was available and very friendly to work with!

The Best Birthday Vacation

Myself, my adult kids, and their significant others immensely enjoyed my birthday week at Ruff Life. Although it’s not “oceanfront”, it may as well be. You can clearly see the ocean and hear the waves from the deck. We even saw dolphins a couple of different mornings while having our coffee out on the deck. We spent a lot of time on the deck and in the sun room. We cooked a lot too and the kitchen had everything you need for any meal you make. We truly enjoyed our time while there.

Ruff life stay

Great location and super easy access to beautiful/peaceful beach. The house could use some updating in the kitchen area cabinets/countertop and bathrooms. I had to tighten screws on doorknob leading to front outside deck beings it was almost falling off when we first arrived. The homeowner did have a bottle of champagne on table for our wedding anniversary waiting for us which my wife loved. Overall a nice quiet house just needs some updates.

The most beautiful vacation and the sweetest most welcoming host..A perfect beach house that we could stay at forever…Our dog Clark had a blast and is the best beach bum..
